As a Pharmacy Technician, you’ll assist pharmacists with preparing and distributing medications, ensuring accuracy, safety, and timely service for our patients. Job Summary The Pharmacy Technician assists registered pharmacists in the preparation, distribution, and management of prescription medications. This role supports safe and effective patient care through accurate medication handling, documentation, and collaboration with healthcare providers. Key Responsibilities Assist in preparing and distributing prescription medications under pharmacist supervision. Read and interpret physician orders accurately. Enter patient orders into the computer system. Fill and deliver new patient orders and floor stock requests. Maintain accurate filing of orders, narcotic sheets, packaging records, and related documentation. Process and price employee prescriptions. Package medications not available in unit dose. Deliver medications hourly and as needed to patient care areas. Conduct monthly pharmacy unit inspections. Stock automated dispensing cabinets, emergency medication trays, and kits. Clean and maintain pharmacy areas, sterile compounding rooms, and equipment. Place and check in orders with the primary wholesaler; process medication returns. Replace printer toner and maintain supply areas. Administer vaccines and immunizations upon completion of ACPE Pharmacy Technician Immunization Training (Arkansas Pharmacist Association). Complete continuing education requirements to maintain certification. Perform other duties as assigned. Job Qualifications Required: High school diploma or equivalent. Current Pharmacy Technician certification. Strong knowledge of brand and generic drug names, medication routes, and hospital formulary. Ability to interpret medical abbreviations and physician orders accurately. Preferred: Previous hospital or healthcare pharmacy experience. Completion of ACPE Pharmacy Technician Immunization Training. Familiarity with automated dispensing systems. Compensation & Schedule Competitive pay, commensurate with experience.
