HCHC (Healthy Community Health Centers) is looking for a hygienist to join our expanding team of providers.   The Dental Hygienist is responsible for the removal of hard and soft deposits of stains, calculus and plaque from teeth as well as administering preventive dental care in a community health care setting. The Dental Hygienist is responsible for providing patient care and working with health center providers and staff to ensure quality outcomes for our patients. HCHC is looking for community driven employees who are excited to help their neighbors lead healthy lives.   Full-time Hygienist at HCHC enjoy: Market Pay based on experience Daylight schedule – Monday – Thursday (clinic closed on Friday) 6 Paid Holidays Full-time starts with 264 hours of PTO (includes vacation and sick time), PT PTO is prorated based on hours worked Paid Maternity and Parental bonding leave for full-time employees Benefits include: health, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, company-paid life insurance, and a retirement plan with 4% company match Up to 40 hours of CME and $1000 per year This position is eligible for the National Health Service Corps (NHSC) Loan Repayment Program (LRP). Dental Hygienists have the opportunity to have their student loans repaid, while earning a competitive salary, in exchange for providing healthcare in communities with limited access to care. Qualifications Unrestricted license to practice dental hygiene in the Commonwealth of Virginia and cannot be sanctioned under Medicaid or Medicare. The position requires a comprehensive knowledge of primary dental hygiene care in outpatient settings. Knowledge of the principles and practice of modern dental hygiene as related to public health organizations and community health programs as well as current social and economic problems about public health and their impact on primary health care. The Dental Hygienist must be cognizant of the prevalent stressors and their impact on the patient populations in the community health center primary care settings. The Dental Hygienist of the center must be able to creatively work with the Dental Director, Dental Providers, as well as other health care professionals from a variety of disciplines to achieve maximal productivity and programmatic effectiveness while continuously promoting the growth and development of the dental clinic, and displaying good work judgment. Current CPR (BLS) certificate required.
