Overview:

ED Tech II/Monitor Tech Resource Pool: Flexible Work Schedule, Self-Scheduling, Premium Pay, and Resource Pool Differential

Provides hospital based Basic, Advanced, and Specialized Life Support treatment and transportation in the non-emergency and emergency setting. Provides training and educational reinforcement for ED Tech I staff as assigned by management. Reports to Emergency Department Clinical Manager.

Must complete clinical competencies and hospital based orientation on all equipment and procedures required to provide Critical Emergency Level Care. Must attend ongoing training updates annually.

  • Must reside within 75 miles and 90 minutes of two hospitals in the Northern Virginia or Blue Ridge region:

  • Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in Woodbridge, VA; Sentara Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg, VA; and Sentara Martha Jefferson in Charlottesville, VA.

Certification/Licensure

  • Virginia or NC State EMT-Paramedic certification is required.

Experience

  • Experience in Phlebotomy, NIH Stroke Scale, Physical Assessment, IV Access: Peripheral, IO, Splinting, Cardiac Rhythm Interpretation including recognition of STEM/NSTEMI, is required.

  • Two (2) years experience as a paramedic, actively affiliated with an EMS agency and in good standing, two (2) years as a paramedic affiliated with an agency and left in good standing, or two (2) years experience as a Sentara ED Tech with their EMT-P in good standing or left in good standing.
