Parts Room Attendant Job Description 

Job Title: Parts Room Attendant 

Compensation: $22.50/hr 

Additional Compensation: $1.50/hr shift differential 
Department: Maintenance / Parts Room 
Reports To: Maintenance Planner 
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt 
Location: Acorn Plant
Work Arrangement: On-Site 
Shift / Schedule: 2nd Shift
Travel Requirements: Less than 10%

Role Overview / Purpose and Scope 

The Parts Room Attendant supports Farmer Focus operations by organizing, tracking, issuing, ordering, and maintaining parts, tools, equipment, and supplies within the parts/supply room. This role helps ensure maintenance, operations, and authorized personnel have the parts and tools needed to support safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations. The Parts Room Attendant is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, supporting parts ordering and reordering, receiving delivered parts, issuing parts and tools through the appropriate system, and keeping the parts/supply room clean, organized, and accountable. This position requires strong attention to detail, communication skills, organization, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Maintain the reliability and accuracy of parts/supply room inventories for maintenance and operations. 

  • Receive delivered parts, replenish parts as needed, and organize inventory in the parts/supply room. 

  • Keep the parts/supply room clean, orderly, and properly maintained. 

  • Order and reorder parts as needed to support maintenance and operational needs. 

  • Supply parts to maintenance, operations, and authorized personnel. 

  • Create work orders for parts as required. 

  • Conduct daily inventory of tools and equipment. 

  • Keep accurate daily records of parts inventory and incoming orders. 

  • Receive and issue parts in the appropriate system on a daily basis. 

  • Issue tools and equipment to authorized personnel and maintain records of tool and equipment accountability. 

  • Utilize and maintain the Canopy system or other related inventory databases. 

  • Communicate effectively with external suppliers and internal customers at all levels. 

  • Support cooperative working relationships by demonstrating a willingness to perform other job-related work as needed or required. 

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. 

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel. 

  • Effective oral and written communication skills. 

  • Effective interpersonal skills. 

  • Excellent problem-solving skills. 

  • Strong attention to detail. 

  • Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously. 

  • Ability to complete job duties unsupervised and unassisted. 

  • Ability and willingness to communicate with external suppliers and internal customers at all levels. 

  • Ability to maintain accurate inventory, order, parts, tool, and equipment records. 

  • Ability to use inventory databases, including the Canopy system or other related systems. 

  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the role with or without reasonable accommodation. 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • 1 year of parts, inventory, supply room, warehouse, maintenance support, or related experience. 

  • Experience ordering, receiving, issuing, or tracking parts and supplies. 

  • Experience working in a manufacturing, production, food processing, poultry processing, or maintenance environment. 

  • Experience using inventory systems or databases. 

 

New team members must be able to pass a drug, alcohol and background screening post-offer and prior to the start of their employment. The Immigration Reform and Control Act requires that verification of employment eligibility be documented for all new employees by the end of their third day of work. 

 

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Travel 

Work is conducted primarily in a parts/supply room, maintenance, manufacturing, and production environment. This role may require access to plant areas, maintenance areas, parts storage areas, and production-adjacent areas. This position requires constant standing. The team member may also be required to bend, twist, kneel, climb, push, pull, and reach on an occasional to frequent basis. The role requires frequent lifting up to 25 pounds and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds. The team member must be able to tolerate varying heat, wet, and chill conditions within the plant when accessing production or maintenance areas. Hearing and eye protective equipment are required in the production area. Hair and beard nets are required in the production area. Additional personal protective equipment may be required based on task, location, and safety requirements.
