Job DetailsJob Location: Harrisonville, MO 64701Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: 4 Year DegreeJob Shift: DayNurse Manager—Mills Oncology and Rheumatology Center Primary Purpose: To ensure the safe delivery of high-quality patient care through effective planning, organization, and direction of activities within the Mills Oncology and Rheumatology Center. Formal Policy-Setting Responsibilities: Formally responsible for developing and making recommendations regarding departmental policies and procedures consistent with hospital goals and regulatory requirements. Routine Decision Making: Determines staff assignments and staffing patterns; ensures patient care and treatment are appropriate and consistent with current standards of practice; ensures adequacy and proper functioning of equipment. Formal Supervisory Responsibility: Varying numbers of healthcare and clerical employees depending upon the specific department. Required Knowledge: Knowledge of hospital policies and procedures, state and federal laws, and regulatory requirements related to patient care and nursing practice; understanding of disease processes, available resources, and equipment operation and performance. Required Skills and Ability: Must possess effective communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills; ability to delegate appropriately; demonstrate proficiency with healthcare technology; ability to manage budgets; strong organizational and multitasking skills. Unusual Working Conditions: Potential exposure to blood, body fluids, and hazardous medications or chemicals associated with oncology and rheumatology treatment. Age Specific Competencies: Provides care for birth to pediatric (birth – 2 years), pediatric/child patients between (2 years – 12 years); adolescent patients between 12 to 18 years of age; adult patients between 18 to 64 years; and geriatric patients 65 years and older.     QualificationsEducation and Certification/Registration Required for the Position: Current RN license in the state of Missouri preferred. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. BLS certification required. Oncology and infusion background preferred. Prior management experience preferred.
