Lead Aquatics Instructor (part-time)

About the role

HealthFitness is searching for 2 part-time (15-20 hpw) Lead Aquatic Instructors to join the Aquatics Team at our client site located in West Hartford, CT.

Weekdays Lead Aquatic Instructor

Monday-Thursday: 3pm-7pm

Weekends Lead Aquatic Instructor

Friday: 3pm-7pm

Saturday: 8am-3:30pm

Sunday: 8am-3:30pm

Key Accountabilities:

• Plan, coordinate, and lead swim lessons for various age groups and skill levels. 
• Oversees administrative duties at the Rec Desk to communicate with families on class status, prints rosters and certificates
• Communicate effectively with scheduling and training new aquatic instructors. 
• Other duties as needed/assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School Diploma.
• Minimum 3 years of swim lesson experience.
• Strong ability and knowledge of swim strokes, techniques, and progression.
• Current Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification or ability to obtain it within 30 days of hire.
• Current Adult/Child/Infant CPR/AED/First Aid certifications from American Heart Association, American Red Cross, National Safety Institute, or American Safety & Health Institute required by start date. (Note: certification must have an in-person component and not 100% online/OSHA compliant).

Preferred:

• Previous leadership experience
• Strong customer service experience.
• Familiar with Rec desk software
• Excellent communication skills.
