Join Our Mission-Driven Finance Team

Capital Workforce Partners is seeking a detail-oriented and driven Junior Accountant to support our Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career accounting professional who wants to grow their skills while contributing to impactful, community-focused work.

In this role, you will play a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting grant compliance, and contributing to essential financial operations that help drive our mission forward.

What You’ll Do:

Accounting & Financial Operations

Process and code vendor invoices in accordance with organizational and grant requirements
Maintain accounts payable records and ensure timely payments
Reconcile corporate credit card statements and monthly bank accounts
Investigate and resolve discrepancies

Budget & Financial Systems

Support management of Service Provider (SP) and Individual Training Account (ITA) budgets
Ensure accurate coding across funding sources and cost centers
Maintain budget documentation and internal tracking

Payroll Support

Process biweekly payroll based on approved HR data
Ensure accuracy of wages, deductions, and benefits
Maintain payroll records in compliance with internal controls and audit standards

Reporting & Close Activities

Generate routine financial reports
Prepare and post journal entries (accruals, allocations, adjustments)
Support month-end, quarter-end, and annual audit processes
Assist with documentation for internal and external reporting

Requirements

What You Bring:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
(Associate degree + relevant experience considered)
1–3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
Experience in accounts payable or general ledger functions
Familiarity with accounting systems (MIP Fund Accounting a plus)
Exposure to payroll processing preferred
Nonprofit or grant-funded experience is a plus
