We are seeking an experienced Commercial Electrical Project Manager to lead commercial and industrial electrical construction projects from preconstruction through final closeout. This role will have full ownership of project schedules, budgets, procurement, field coordination, cost control, and client communication while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to a high standard of quality.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience working for an electrical contractor or electrical subcontractor, understands commercial electrical systems and construction practices, and can independently manage multiple projects while maintaining strong financial and operational performance.
Responsibilities- Manage multiple commercial and industrial electrical projects from contract award through final completion
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, labor forecasts, procurement plans, and cost projections
- Coordinate daily project needs with Superintendents, Foremen, field crews, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers
- Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, general contractors, engineers, architects, inspectors, and other project stakeholders
- Review electrical drawings, specifications, contracts, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and other construction documentation
- Monitor project costs, labor productivity, forecasts, and overall profitability
- Identify and resolve schedule, budget, procurement, manpower, and field coordination issues
- Lead project meetings and provide regular updates on progress, milestones, financial performance, and project risks
- Coordinate material purchasing, equipment deliveries, subcontractor schedules, and other project logistics
- Prepare, negotiate, track, and manage change orders while ensuring additional work is properly documented and approved
- Support inspections, testing, commissioning, punch-list activities, and final project turnover
- Ensure projects comply with applicable electrical codes, contract requirements, safety regulations, and quality standards
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, vendors, and project partners
- 5+ years of project management experience in commercial or industrial electrical construction
- Previous experience working for an electrical contractor or electrical subcontractor required
- Valid Connecticut E-1 or E-2 Electrical License required
- Strong knowledge of commercial electrical systems, installation methods, construction sequencing, and industry practices
- Proven ability to manage electrical projects from preconstruction through final closeout
- Strong experience with project budgeting, forecasting, cost control, procurement, change orders, and labor management
- Ability to read and interpret electrical plans, specifications, contracts, and construction documents
- Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, or similar construction management platforms
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to independently manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced construction environment
- Candidates available to start within the next month are preferred
- $100,000–$110,000 salary, based on experience
