Job Summary:
The Senior Accountant Analyst is a key member of Broan-NuToneās U.S. Accounting & Finance team with broad responsibility across SG&A, P&L, and balance sheet activity. This role owns assigned accounting areas, serves as the primary point of contact for external auditors, and plays a critical role in ensuring accurate, well-supported financial statements through strong balance sheet ownership, clear P&L analysis, and disciplined close and audit processes.
Reporting to the U.S. Controller, this role supports all U.S. operations and works closely with executive leadership, functional leaders, and plant operations. While responsibilities include journal entries and reconciliations, the position is centered on ownership, analysis, and judgment, including explaining results, partnering cross-functionally, and ensuring audit-ready financials.
Job Responsibilities:
SG&A Reporting, Budgeting & Analysis
- Own preparation, review, and distribution of monthly SG&A reports across U.S. functions (e.g., HR, IT, Marketing, Finance, corporate support), ensuring results are accurate, reasonable, and explainable prior to executive reporting.
- Provide variance analysis and commentary (month-over-month, budget vs. actual, forecast vs. actual), including monthly ābridgingā of key SG&A drivers.
- Support the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting process for SG&A, partnering with functional leaders on plans, staffing, and spending assumptions.
- Analyze and explain P&L results with a focus on SG&A, Sales, and Net Sales; partner with Finance and Commercial stakeholders to understand key revenue drivers.
Capital Projects & Fixed Assets
- Support capital expenditure and fixed asset accounting for U.S. operations, including tracking capital projects from request through capitalization.
- Review capital business cases, monitor project spend, ensure proper accounting treatment, and maintain accurate fixed asset records and depreciation.
- Partner with operations and plant leadership to understand the financial impact of capital projects and support informed decision-making.
Financial Reporting & Close
- Support accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close for SG&A and capital-related areas, including preparation and posting of related journal entries.
- Perform account reconciliations for assigned balance sheet and P&L accounts; identify, investigate, and resolve reconciling items.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors for assigned areas, owning audit requests end-to-end through preparation of schedules, explanations, and issue resolution.
- Ensure audit readiness through strong documentation and reconciliations, and partner with the U.S. Controller to address audit findings and strengthen audit and control processes.
Rebates, Allowances & Revenue-Related Accruals
- Own accounting, monthly accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations related to customer rebates, allowances, and other revenue-related reserves.
- Leverage ERP data and partner cross-functionally to understand drivers, timing, and assumptions impacting Net Sales and related balance sheet accounts.
Business Partnering & Executive Support
- Serve as a key business partner to U.S. functional leaders and the Executive Leadership Team on SG&A and capital results.
- Proactively flag trends, risks, and opportunities and help leaders understand the drivers behind their financial results.
- Translate financial data into clear, concise explanations for non-finance stakeholders and participate in executive discussions regarding SG&A performance and capital spending.

Systems, Tools & Process Improvement
- Use corporate planning and reporting tools, including Planful, to validate that journal entries and results flow correctly to the P&L and balance sheet.
- Identify opportunities to streamline, automate, and standardize SG&A and capital reporting processes, and maintain documentation for key processes, controls, and reporting routines.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelorās degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3+ years of hands-on accounting experience (journal entries, reconciliations, month-end close) combined with analytical work such as variance analysis and budgeting/forecasting.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and comfort with P&L and balance sheet relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to explain results and drivers (e.g., SG&A movements, capital and depreciation changes).
- Proficiency in Excel (lookups, pivots, basic modeling); experience with Planful or similar tools is a plus.
- Experience working with an ERP system; comfort learning new financial systems and tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to interact confidently with leaders at multiple levels.
- Proven ability to work independently and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to flex hours during peak periods (month-end, budget season, year-end).
- Experience in manufacturing or a mid- to large-scale corporate environment preferred.
- CPA or CMA preferred.
