The Urgent Care Center Physician will provide onsite medical services to beneficiaries of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) at the Erie VA Medical Center. This role involves delivering a full range of urgent care services, managing patient treatment plans, and ensuring all care meets or exceeds national clinical standards.

Location: Erie VA Medical Center, Urgent Care Center, 135 East 38th Street, Erie, PA 16504
Schedule: The Urgent Care Center operates daily from 08:00 to 20:00, including Federal holidays.

Key Responsibilities

- Clinical Care: Provide comprehensive urgent care services to patients, determining appropriate courses of treatment and communicating effectively with referring clinicians.
- Consultation: Offer expert consultation and instruction to referring physicians regarding clinically appropriate care.
- Administrative Duties: Dedicate approximately 15% of time to administrative tasks, including attending required staff meetings and completing Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement (QA/QI) documentation.

Required Qualifications

- Education & Certification: Must be a Licensed Physician, Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine or Emergency Medicine.
- Licensure: Must possess a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. State, Territory, or the District of Columbia.
- Life Support: Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is mandatory.
- Registration: Must have a valid National Provider Identifier (NPI) and Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration.

Security Requirements

- Training: Completion of VA mandatory training modules, including Privacy, HIPAA, and Information Security, within the first week of service.
- Must be US Citizen
