Description:

Trinity Health Of New England is looking for a Manager of Volunteer Services to join our mission-driven team.

This position provides direction, coordination, and consultation for all volunteer services programs within Trinity Health Of New England. Plans, develops, and manages volunteer services so that the region will derive full benefit from a consistently well-managed team of volunteers Based primarily at Saint Francis Hospital the Manager works with department leaders throughout the region with the placement of volunteers.  

What you will do

  • Directs the operations, program development, and financial activities of the Regional Volunteer Services Department
  • Directs the development of appropriate recognition, retention, and motivation programs for Trinity Health volunteers
  • Manages contracts and agreements with third-party volunteer partners
  • Acts as the principal liaison with hospital department managers regarding the screening, placement, and evaluation of volunteers to ensure appropriate placement and satisfaction
  • In collaboration with the Mission Leader Supervisor, develops and monitors the Volunteer Office budget together with a list of specific goals and objectives each fiscal year
  • Develops and maintains current volunteer assignment descriptions with the assistance of appropriate hospital staff, ensuring that the information is current on the various hospital and regional web sites
  • Engages in regular site visits to the hospitals and other care sites in the region, engaging with volunteers who may be on site during the visit, and working collaboratively with department leaders

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and minimum three years of experience in Volunteer Services coordination preferred
  • Must have proven successful volunteer services program management in an institutional setting. Must demonstrate skill and experience in program/project management and implementation, process improvement, and organizational/change management.  Experience in health care setting preferred.
  • Must be able to travel to sites within a local area within Trinity Health (up to 75%).
