Responsible for providing a variety of technical procedures and apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis for our GoHealth Urgent Care patients. This role is responsible for performing and analyzing patient x-rays and reporting results to Medical Providers. Additional responsibilities include providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of GoHealth Urgent Care Centers. In a collaborative manner, the Radiologic Technologist will provide support to Medical Providers, Medical Assistants and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication.  Â

Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program requiredÂ
High School Diploma or equivalent requiredÂ
Â
Work ExperienceÂ
Experience in a clinical setting preferredÂ
Required Licenses/CertificationsÂ
Basic Life Support (BLS) required at the time of hire (obtained through the American Red Cross (ARC) or American Heart Association (AHA).Â
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration required.Â
Applicable state licensure as a Radiologic Technologist required.Â

Essential FunctionsÂ
Responsible for x-ray services as neededÂ
Under the direction of the clinical provider, perform x-ray services for patients by applying x-ray energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment of patients in all age groups from newborn to elderly.Â
Ensure patients are positioned correctly on or in front of equipment and protected during use.Â
Will need to push patient in a wheelchairÂ
Â
Patient Preparation and RoomingÂ
Inform technical staff of patient flow.Â
Prepare patients for examination, which includes conducting interviews to verify patient information, record medical history; confirm purpose of visit;Â
Perform preliminary physical test (blood pressure, weight, temperature, etc.) for vital signs and escalate critical cases to provider as needed.Â
Conduct point of care testing as needed (i.e., flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG); and provide patient information to provider.Â
Â
AdministrativeÂ
Responsible for maintenance of medical records and scanning charts to patient files.Â
Conduct courtesy call-backs for patient follow-up on careÂ
Follow operating instructions to perform and document daily controls and calibration of equipment; maintain Quality Assurance/Quality Control logs for equipment troubleshoot breakdowns, perform preventive maintenance, and submit repair tickets as neededÂ

Other responsibilities include:Â Â
Â
Medical Team Support: Collaborate with the ordering/treating Provider to determine which procedures or views will best assist in accurate diagnoses and treatment. Support clinic operations to keep the center running smoothly. Â
Patient Care: Explaining procedures to patients, ensuring their comfort and safety, and answering their questions. Â
Patient Positioning: Accurately positioning patients and equipment for optimal imaging results. Â
Image Production: Selecting proper ionizing factors by adjusting/setting radiographic controls to capture clear, high-quality diagnostic imagesÂ
Equipment Maintenance: Performing routine maintenance, cleaning of X-ray equipment, and managing necessary supplies. Â
Radiation Safety: Adhering to strict radiation safety protocols and implementing ALARA (as low as reasonably achievable) to minimize exposure to patients and staff. Â
Documentation: Maintaining accurate patient records and logging completed procedures in electronic systems and/or logbooks as required. Â
Image Management: Verifying image quality and ensuring images are sent to radiologists for interpretation. Â
Â
Knowledge:Â
1. Knowledge of X-ray procedures and protocols.Â
2. Knowledge of anatomy and physiology necessary to perform X-ray testing including body mechanicsÂ
and patient movement.Â
3. Knowledge of radiology equipment including safety hazards common to radiology.Â
Â
Skills:Â
1. Positioning patients properly for the X-ray procedure required.Â
2. Identifying equipment problems and correcting or notifying supervisor.Â
3. Following infection control and radiological safety procedures.Â
