Position Summary
The Demand Planning Intern will support the Demand Planning team in maintaining accurate SKU-level data and assisting with projects that improve forecasting accuracy and operational efficiency. This role offers exposure to Sales & Operations Planning (SIOP), demand forecasting processes, and data analytics within a leading manufacturing organization.
Key Responsibilities
On a daily basis, the intern will:
- Update SKU-level data in Gains (our demand planning system) to ensure accuracy and timeliness of forecasts.
- Validate and reconcile data inputs from multiple sources to maintain system integrity.
- Assist in monitoring forecast accuracy and identifying variances.
- Support projects focused on tracking product mix, total volume, and other key demand metrics.
- Prepare reports and dashboards for internal stakeholders to support decision-making.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Supply Planning, Marketing, Sales) to gather insights and improve forecast quality.
Desired Qualifications
We are looking for an intern who is:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, basic formulas); experience with data visualization tools is a plus.
- Comfortable working with large datasets and learning new systems quickly.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
