Electrician

Hutco Branch: Harvey, LA

Rate of Pay: $30.00 to $38.00 (Based on experience) per hour, time and a half for overtime after 40 hours.

Description: Hutco Inc. is looking for an experienced electrician with shipyard experience. It is primarily repair work on barges and boats. NO twic card required.

Installs, services, repairs, replaces, and maintains all electric wiring and electrical equipment such as cranes, public address systems, and electric motors.

Installs lights and power lines, electrical outlets, electrical fixtures, and hooks up and disconnects shore power and compressors, welding bank, etc.

Performs all functions of the position in conformity with applicable regulations concerning marine electrical systems and generally observed safety practices.

Requirements:

The individual assigned to this position must, with or without reasonable accommodation, be able to perform the following Essential Functions:

 Comprehend blueprints and sketches.  

Enter and work in internally confined spaces.

Manipulate and transport loads up to 50 pounds over distances of

up to 200 feet, approximately 1 to 6 times during each 8-hour shift.

Manipulate and operate all machines and tools essential to the

performance of the position of Electrician.

Traverse gangways and scaffolding at varying heights.

Traverse and negotiate uneven heights between dock and vessel.

Traverse and negotiate uneven surfaces.

Ascend and work at heights.

Stooping, squatting, twisting, kneeling, and reaching.
