Executive Administrator, Home Care & Hospice

We are seeking a transformational nursing leader to join a world-class academic health system as the Executive Administrator, Home Care & Hospice, and lead a mission-driven team dedicated to delivering exceptional care where patients feel most supported — in the comfort of their own homes. Reporting to the Executive Director, Health System Post-Acute Care, you will serve as a strategic and operational nursing leader responsible for advancing the performance, growth, and impact of UChicago Medicine’s Home Care & Hospice programs.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in both home health and hospice operations, regulatory excellence, financial stewardship, and compassionate, patient-centered care.

Who You Are

  • BSN (Bachelor of Nursing) is a firm requirement. Master’s degree strongly preferred.
  • 7–10+ years of progressive leadership experience in a healthcare environment, including operational and budget oversight.
  • Strong command of financial performance measurement, budgeting, and operational analytics.
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop professional and administrative teams.
  • Knowledge of sterile processing and care coordination strongly preferred.
  • Skilled at navigating complex environments and collaborating with high-level internal and external stakeholders.
  • Deep expertise in home health and hospice regulations, including Medicare Conditions of Participation, Medicaid, IDPH requirements, and Joint Commission standards.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and leadership capabilities with a record of driving results in dynamic, evolving settings.

What You Will Gain

  • The opportunity to shape the patient care journey across a major academic health system.
  • The ability to help patients live with dignity, comfort, and independence in their own homes whenever possible.
  • A strategic leadership role partnering with senior executives — including the CFO, VP of Patient Care Services, and COO — to design and execute operational, quality, and growth strategies for the Home Care & Hospice service line.

What You Will Do

  • Lead and oversee daily operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care to the community.
  • Develop and present the annual budget for Governing Body approval.
  • Create and execute the annual operational and strategic plan for Home Care & Hospice.
  • Ensure full compliance with all federal, state, and accrediting body regulations, including TJC standards.
  • Build and maintain a strong public relations and marketing strategy to enhance community awareness and strengthen relationships with physicians and healthcare partners.

  • Provide visionary leadership in developing care standards, policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives across the service line.
