We're looking for an experienced Safety & Fleet Manager who is passionate about creating a safe, compliant, and people-first work environment. In this role, you'll lead company-wide safety initiatives, oversee fleet operations and compliance, manage workers' compensation programs, and partner with leadership to continuously improve safety performance across our office, warehouse, and field operations.
The ideal candidate is a proactive leader who enjoys coaching others, identifying trends before they become problems, and building programs that protect employees while supporting operational excellence.
Responsibilities
Safety Responsibilities:
- Lead efforts to ensure excellent safety performance across driving, warehouse operations, field operations, and office operations.
- Monitor systems and reporting and address issues through coordination with supervisors, department managers, and the Head of People.
- Identify, establish, and maintain safety training requirements and associated methods of communication.
- Perform data analysis on accident and violation information to determine focus areas for remediation, prevention, and risk management.
- Ensure the company operates in full compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Complete, or assist in the completion of, required reporting and record keeping, including OSHA tracking and reporting.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for accident investigations and incidents while providing guidance to supervisory staff.
- Establish and facilitate educational programs while developing personnel.
- Expand safety programs to identify and meet emerging needs, maximize the use of developing technology, and proactively improve company safety initiatives.
- Manage the workers' compensation program, including employee and supervisor training, tracking, reporting, documentation, and coordination with insurance carriers and healthcare providers.
- Observe safety trends and provide recommendations to leadership for continuous improvement.
Fleet Responsibilities:
- Manage the acquisition, registration, maintenance, and disposal of company fleet vehicles.
- Oversee vehicle inspections, preventative maintenance, repairs, and servicing to maximize fleet uptime and reliability.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal transportation regulations, licensing requirements, and company vehicle policies.
- Monitor fleet utilization, fuel usage, GPS/telematics systems, and vehicle performance to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.
- Investigate vehicle accidents, coordinate insurance claims, and implement driver safety initiatives to reduce risk.
- Develop and manage fleet budgets while maintaining accurate fleet records, maintenance documentation, and compliance reporting.
- Negotiate and manage relationships with vendors, repair facilities, leasing companies, and fuel providers.
- Coordinate vehicle assignments, replacements, roadside assistance, and emergency repairs to support business operations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Safety Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience.
- Three (3)+ years of experience in safety management or a similar leadership role is required.
- Experience managing comprehensive safety programs, including employee training for diverse workforce.
- Experience managing compliance and reporting at the local, state, and federal levels.
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and Louisiana state safety laws.
- Proven ability to identify workplace hazards and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
- Proven experience managing workers' compensation programs, including documentation, tracking, reporting, and coordination with insurance companies and medical providers.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and facilitate safety training across a broad range of topics for diverse audiences.
Fleet Qualifications:
- At least three (3) years of experience managing a commercial fleet, including vehicle maintenance, compliance, licensing, and lifecycle management is required.
- Knowledge of fleet management software, GPS/telematics systems, and fleet reporting.
- Experience managing fleet budgets, fuel programs, vendor relationships, and operational costs.
- Understanding of transportation regulations, driver qualification requirements, and fleet compliance best practices.
- Experience implementing driver safety programs and investigating vehicle accidents is preferred.

- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, and crouch for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in office, warehouse, and field environments.
- Ability to work Monday-Friday, generally 7:00 AM-4:00 PM, and respond to emergency calls after hours and on weekends as needed.
