POSITION SUMMARY:

The Director of Human Resources leads all human resources operations for our manufacturing facility. This leader serves as a trusted strategic partner to plant leadership, ensuring that our workforce strategies directly support production goals, efficiencies, and safety. The Director of HR has oversight of talent life cycle, training, employee relations, benefits and compensation administration, employee engagement, and business partnering to cultivate a people-first company culture. 

 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Lead the HR team, and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies pertaining to hiring, terminations, discipline, leave management, and wellness, being hands on when necessary. 
  • Develop, implement, interpret, and consistently administer HR policies.
  • Coach leaders at all levels and support training and organizational development.
  • In partnership with leaders, address workplace concerns, investigations, conflict resolution, discipline, and performance issues. 
  • Navigate complexity, synthesize information, and weigh strengths and opportunities to ensure sound decision making and process improvement. 
  • Oversee pay practices, benefits programs, job classifications, and compensation strategies.
  • Manage workers’ compensation claim process.
  • Use HR data (turnover rate, for example) to identify trends and implement solutions.
  • Ensure effective, on-going, well-documented training at all levels of the organization.
  • Oversee and actively participate in on-going efforts in communication, organizational culture and change initiatives to create and sustain a positive company culture. 
  • Work as part of cross-functional team on all issues across the company.
  • Comply with and adhere to applicable safety and work rules and requirements, including ISO standards 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION

  • Works on-site (not a remote position)
  • Works in both office and manufacturing environments
  • Occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk for long periods of time
  • Able to use computer 
  • Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed and appropriate


REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Industrial Relations or related field
  • Progressive HR experience, including leadership
  • Manufacturing experience
  • Proven success cultivating non-union operations 
  • HR certification(s) 
  • Substantial working experience with state and federal laws and regulations (e.g. FMLA, ADA, Title VII)
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Acts as a beacon for Company mission, values, and professional workplace 
  • Skilled at communicating with all levels of the organization

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree is a plus
  • SPHR certification strongly preferred
