General Manager – Neighborhood Bar
We're looking for a hands-on General Manager to lead a casual neighborhood bar. We need someone who enjoys being behind the bar, connecting with regulars, leading the team, and setting the tone for a great guest experience.
The General Manager will oversee the overall operation while also regularly working tipped bartending shifts as part of the bar team.
What You'll Do

- Maintain strong service standards while keeping the atmosphere casual and approachable
- Manage labor, inventory, ordering, cash controls, and operating costs
- Handle guest concerns and support the team during busy shifts
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and responsible alcohol-service standards
- Partner with ownership/leadership on promotions, events, and sales-building opportunities
- Hold the team accountable while building a positive, dependable culture
What We're Looking For
- Previous bar management experience
- Strong bartending experience
- Comfortable leading from behind the bar rather than managing from the office
- Open availability and the ability to work a combination of day, night, and weekend shifts
- Strong understanding of labor, inventory, beverage costs, and scheduling
- Confident, personable leadership style
- Someone who can build relationships with regulars while welcoming new guests
- Organized, reliable, and able to keep things moving in a fast-paced environment
The Right Fit
You understand that a great neighborhood bar is built on personality, consistency, regulars, and a strong bartending team. You can run the business like a GM while still getting behind the bar, making drinks, taking care of guests, and working tipped shifts alongside your team.
This position combines General Manager responsibilities with scheduledbartending shifts and requires the flexibility to work days, nights, and weekends. It's a great fit for an experienced bar leader who still loves being behind the bar and being part of the action.
