SUMMARY

The Production Supervisor leads team members in one of our production departments to fulfill the mission by achieving production goals and driving continuous improvement in safety, quality, on-time delivery, and teamwork.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Works on-site in our Hastings, Michigan plant.Â
- Leads, monitors, and performs day-to-day production tasks in the unit.
- Ensures team members are trained to perform job tasks safely and correctly.
- Enforces a safe work environment in accordance with Company standards.
- Enters relevant data in ERP system in an accurate and timely manner.
- Communicates Company news to hourly team members.
- Prioritizes and assigns work to meet production requirements.
- Tracks and analyzes production values and implements actions to improve department performance.
- Conducts regular competence and awareness evaluations of department employees.
- Identifies opportunities for team members to improve; implements performance improvement plans accordingly.
- Monitors department timekeeping, including requests for time off.
- Participates in supervisory meetings, projects, and committees
- Participates in interviews and provides input on job applicants
- Appropriately identifies and elevates issues affecting production or people (i.e., to plant manager, human resources, etc.).
- Complies with and adheres to all applicable ISO standards, safety, and work rules and requirements.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
 PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Work primarily in non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment
- Use of appropriate personal protective equipment
- Use of computer
- Near vision (ability to see details at close range)
- Fine motor skills
- Written and oral comprehension and expression
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
- Ability to load and operate powered industrial trucks, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
- Ability and willingness to routinely work 46+ hours per week.
 REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS
- At least five (5) years of manufacturing experience required
- Proven ability to work well with all levels of the organization
- Excellent time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills with the ability to effectively train others
- Knowledge to enable use of computer programs including ERP software and Microsoft Office
