We currently have an opening for an Optical Alignment Technician, for our Ultra High Purity (UHP) division. This position is based in Horsham, PA, reporting to the Lead Optical Alignment Engineer. This individual is responsible for supporting the manufacturing of our laser-based gas analyzers, by assembling the mechanical and optical components of our analyzers and performing the alignment of our analyzers to attain specifications. The individual will work in a Clean Room environment where the Clean Room protocols must be strictly adhered to.

 

The position is part of the manufacturing side of the Production Department and will collaborate closely with the RD&E and Service Departments. The role plays a critical part in advancing our vision of partnering with our customers to become their preferred provider of process analytical solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform precision opto-mechanical assembly and optical alignment for our advanced laser-based product lines.
  • Prepare, process, clean, install, assemble, rework, and/or inspect product at various stages of assembly from component level to final product.
  • Collect, analyze, and report data from production processes requiring basic mathematical and statistical knowledge. 
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned and other Production related tasks.
  • Apply PI values to all tasks and responsibilities.

  • Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to all safety protocols and procedures, actively identifying potential hazards, and promoting a culture of safety among the team.

Qualifying Attributes and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a science field, preferably Physics, Optics or Chemistry.
  • Basic knowledge of optics and electronics equipment.
  • Proficient experience and use of computers and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to perform general mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to use common lab equipment, such as: Oscilloscope, Power Meter, Vacuum Pump, etc.
  • Ability to perform routine work in a fast-paced, team environment under tight deadlines. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Ability to work autonomously with little or no direction; self-managed.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Must have excellent record keeping skills with attention to details. 
  • Commitment to continuous improvement, quality, and safety.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds.
