Job Description:

Penn Color is seeking a collaborative, enthusiastic and detail-oriented CAD Technician who will primarily support the engineering and maintenance departments to design and detail parts, equipment layouts and plant as-built drawings and documentation in addition to the other responsibilities outlined below.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Produce Computed Aided Design detail drawings of common and unique parts required to support Penn Color maintenance and operations.

  • Maintain Penn Color drawing logs and revision history.

  • Maintain and edit existing plant as-built equipment layouts, utility layouts, site maps, seating charts, egress plans and other drawings as required.

  • Develop new equipment layout plans and utility piping plans in coordination with engineering and maintenance project lead(s).

  • Organize and maintain files of hard copy and electronic copy drawing packages of both in-house generated and subcontract generated drawings. Produce hard copy and electronic copies as required for department use.

  • Identify and submit safety hazards and/or improvements.

Required Skills, Education and Experience

  • Strong understanding and ability to use AutoCAD 2D drawing package. Ability to use Inventor or SolidWorks is preferred

  • Ability to use common measurement tools such as a tape measure, digital or analog micrometer, and feeler gauges.

  • Understanding of Imperial to Metric unit conversions and ability to apply those conversions to drawing layouts.

  • Understanding of ANSI standard drawing layouts, dimensioning and tolerancing.

  • Associates degree in electro-mechanical design preferred.

Physical Demands

  • Sit, stand, walk on floors, equipment access platforms and catwalks.

  • Climb ladders/stairways in an industrial setting.

  • Close/distance vision and ability to see color and adjust focus.

  • Ability to engage in written/verbal communication in English with a high level of fluency.
