Position Summary


We are seeking a motivated and dependable Entry-Level Industrial Mechanic to join our manufacturing maintenance team. This position is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to build a career in industrial maintenance and develop hands-on experience working with production machinery, mechanical systems, and plant equipment.


The Industrial Mechanic will assist experienced maintenance personnel with troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, repairs, equipment installations, and general maintenance activities to help keep manufacturing operations running safely and efficiently.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the inspection, maintenance, and repair of manufacturing equipment and machinery.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance under the direction of experienced mechanics.
  • Assist with troubleshooting mechanical equipment and identifying potential equipment problems.
  • Use basic hand and power tools safely and properly.
  • Assist with equipment installations, adjustments, alignments, and repairs.
  • Lubricate machinery and replace basic mechanical components as needed.
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance work area.
  • Follow company safety policies, procedures, and OSHA requirements.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and communicate equipment issues to supervisors.
  • Work closely with production and maintenance team members to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Learn to read equipment manuals, mechanical drawings, and basic schematics.
  • Perform other maintenance-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Technical school, vocational training, or coursework in industrial maintenance, mechanical technology, or a related field is a plus.
  • Previous manufacturing, mechanical, maintenance, automotive, or hands-on technical experience is preferred but not required.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical tools and equipment.
  • Ability to learn mechanical troubleshooting and repair techniques.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Dependable, safety-conscious, and willing to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to lift, carry, bend, climb, and stand for extended periods as required by the job.

Preferred Skills

  • Basic knowledge of bearings, belts, chains, gears, motors, pumps, and mechanical drive systems.
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance practices.
  • Basic electrical or pneumatic knowledge is a plus.
  • Ability to use measuring tools such as calipers, tape measures, and micrometers.
