  • The Operating Room Charge Nurse (RN) is responsible for overseeing daily operations in the surgery department, including patient flow and staffing assignments.
  • Candidates must have a graduation certificate from an accredited nursing school and a current MS state licensure, along with Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • A minimum of one to two years of nursing experience is required, preferably in endoscopy, perioperative, critical care, or procedural areas.
  • Strong critical thinking, organization, and communication skills are essential for this role, as well as proficiency in patient assessment and emergency response protocols.
  • The work schedule is Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and the salary for this position is competitive based on experience.
 

POSITION SUMMARY: 

The Operating Room Charge Nurse (RN) is responsible for planning, organizing, directing and controlling the daily operations in the surgery department.  The Operating Room Charge Nurse coordinates patient flow, staffing assignments and procedural readiness. 

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: 

  • Graduation certificate from an accredited school of nursing (RN program), required 

  • Current MS state licensure, required 

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, required 

  • Advances Cardiovascular Life Support (ALS), preferred  

  • Completion of Moderate Sedation Coarserequired 

  • Minimum of one to two (1-2) years of nursing experience, with prior experience in endoscopy, perioperative, critical care, or procedural areas, preferred 

  • Proficient patient assessment, vital sign monitoring, IV insertions, and administering Moderate Sedation  

  • Knowledge of surgical procedures, infection control practices and emergency response protocols 

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Strong critical thinking skills, organization and multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment  

  • Excellent communication skills, with ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, technicians, anesthesia personnel and patients.  

  • Ability to provide safe care during high stress or emergent situations 

  • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to effectively utilize applicable electronic systems and programs. 

  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
