POSITION SUMMARY:
The Operating Room Charge Nurse (RN) is responsible for planning, organizing, directing and controlling the daily operations in the surgery department. The Operating Room Charge Nurse coordinates patient flow, staffing assignments and procedural readiness.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Graduation certificate from an accredited school of nursing (RN program), required

Current MS state licensure, required
-
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, required
-
Advances Cardiovascular Life Support (ALS), preferred
-
Completion of Moderate Sedation Coarse, required
-
Minimum of one to two (1-2) years of nursing experience, with prior experience in endoscopy, perioperative, critical care, or procedural areas, preferred
-
Proficient patient assessment, vital sign monitoring, IV insertions, and administering Moderate Sedation

Knowledge of surgical procedures, infection control practices and emergency response protocols
QUALIFICATIONS:

Strong critical thinking skills, organization and multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment

Excellent communication skills, with ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, technicians, anesthesia personnel and patients.

Ability to provide safe care during high stress or emergent situations

Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to effectively utilize applicable electronic systems and programs.

Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion

WORK SCHEDULE:

MONDAY-FRIDAY 8:00-5:00
