Job DetailsJob Location: Lillie Burney (School) - Hattiesburg, MS 39401JOB SUMMARY:     The LPN/Team Leader is responsible for promoting and restoring patients’ health by developing a long-term plan of the patient care area; directing and developing staff; collaborating with providers and multidisciplinary professional staff; providing physical and psychological support for patients, friends, and families.  Demonstrates knowledge and skills to appropriately communicate and interact with the staff, patients, families, and visitors of all age groups, while being sensitive to their cultural and religious beliefs.   Job Responsibilities:   Demonstrates flexibility in job duties   Must be available to work extended hours as needed.           Addresses nursing staff needs and shortages appropriately.             Assists with orienting and training nursing staff. Assist the Manager with completion of and be responsible in the Manager’s absence for required reports (daily, weekly, monthly) Assist the Manager with generating the clinic’s monthly supply requisition list. Assist the Manager with safety and compliance by helping to monitor red bag waste and sharps containers and by helping to monitor for out of date medications and patient care supplies. Assist the Manager with actively working recall lists for well visits and for patients who need complex care coordination during slow clinic times and when Providers are out. Initiates, coordinates, and enforces organizational, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.                              Willingly provides support for nursing staff.                                                                Effectively communicates with patients and families.  Maintains a safe and clean working environment.                              Ensures operation of medical equipment, reports malfunctions, and calls in repairs as needed.                             Maintains clinic medical supplies, by anticipating needs, by ordering and maintaining availability of medical supplies.                                             Consistently strives to maintain a cooperative relationship among health care teams. Must be available for employee call ins. Must be able to give guidance and directions in stressful situations.             Effectively delegates tasks to nurses.                                                                         Demonstrates a caring and compassionate attitude toward patients and staff. Adequately communicates with providers.                                          Effectively teaches patient education.                         Monitors patient needs and attempts to satisfy patient complaints. Knowledgeable in operating medical equipment.       Maintains prompt and regular attendance. Verify timecard at the end of each pay period. Performs related work, as assigned. Must be flexible and willing to float to other clinic locations as needed to support operational needs, ensure adequate coverage, and maintain quality patient care Completes the required IT/Security trainings prior to the deadline Effectively evaluates employees by completing 6 month and annual evaluations prior to the deadline Counsels employees on areas of improvement by completing trainings and PCN’s in a timely manner QualificationsJob Requirements:   Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.  Must demonstrate knowledge and skills in the administration of their duties. Minimum of two years clinical work experience. Must be an LPN with a current license in the State of Mississippi.  Current Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Assn. Must have knowledge of basic clinical operations such as overseeing clinical reporting, and ordering medical supplies. Must demonstrate positive personal attributes such as professionalism, honesty, and integrity.  Must demonstrate ability to perform job duties with minimal supervision.                Physical and Other Requirements:   Must be able to pass a criminal background check, drug screen and physical assessment. Must continuously listen, visualize, and have dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Must be able to sit, stand or walk for long periods of time. Frequently lift and or move up to 10 pounds.
