Job Summary:
The Grocery / Frozen & Chill Clerk is responsible for receiving, stocking, and maintaining merchandise across grocery, frozen, and refrigerated departments. This role ensures shelves and displays are well-stocked, clean, and organized while delivering excellent customer service and supporting overall store operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Stock, rotate, and replenish products in grocery, frozen, and chill areas.
Receive, unload, and verify deliveries against invoices.
Monitor inventory levels and assist with reordering and replenishment.
Inspect products for quality and proper condition prior to display.
Maintain clean, organized, and visually appealing shelves, cases, and displays.
Ensure accurate pricing, labeling, and signage.
Follow all food safety and sanitation standards, especially in refrigerated and frozen areas.
Provide prompt, courteous, and helpful customer service.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including sweeping and mopping as needed.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Previous retail or customer service experience preferred (minimum 3 months).
Basic math, reading, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and reliability.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs; occasional lifting up to 100 lbs.
Regular bending, reaching, and stocking activities.
Ability to work in cold, wet, and refrigerated environments.
Exposure to moving equipment, dust, and moderate noise levels.
