The Summer Teller provides account services to customers by receiving deposits and loan payments, cashing checks, processing withdrawals, recording night and mail deposits, selling cashier’s checks and money orders, and answering questions in person or on telephone.


Internship Duration: – Summer (June 2-August)

Location: On-site with flexibility to float to other branches

Employment Type: Temporary Full-time (40 hours per week)

  • Examine checks for negotiability, including endorsements, dates, legality and origination of document.
  • Completes all documentation requirements, including preparation of transaction tickets, scanning of daily work, and reporting as required by Bank Secrecy Act.
  • Cross-sell/refer bank products by informing customers of new services and product promotions; ascertaining customers’ needs; directing customers to a sales personnel or appropriate department.
  • Complete special requests by taking check orders, providing special statements, copies, and referrals.
  • Reconciles cash drawers by proving cash transactions in a timely manner; counting and packaging currency and coins; reconciling withdrawals and checks cashed and other transactions; always maintain cash drawer limits.
  • Complies with bank and security procedures by following all dual-control functions and all security procedures set forth by Security Officer. Complies with Funds Availability/Check Acceptance Policy. Follows all information security guidelines.
  • Represent the bank in a manner that maintains and expands positive relations with all customers, potential customers, vendors, and co-workers.
  • In addition to Teller responsibilities, may serve as Customer Service Representative, providing back-up to Teller Supervisor.
  • Always maintains customer confidence and confidentiality
  • Knowledge, understanding and compliance with all laws, government regulations, Bank and department policies and procedures related to the position.
  • Perform other duties as required.

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Strong computer skills, math skills, and attention to detail.
  • Operational knowledge of computers, printers, and scanners.
  • Six months of cash handling and customer service experience.
