This position plays a crucial role in preparing nutritious and delicious meals for our Residents, visitors and staff, as well as catering for special events and functions. Responsibilities: Prepare daily meals following provided menus and recipes. Ensure food preparation meets health and safety standards. Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen and food storage areas. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation and timely meal service. Excellent communication skills  Maintain a clean and organized work area with the assistance of others Experience, knowledge, or the willingness to learn puree, ground, and chopped techniques for special diet patients Self-motivated to perform at your highest levels Willingness to learn new techniques while sharing your skill set with others   Qualifications Experience as a cook or related role required Ability to work independently with limited supervision required Proven knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations such as proper food handling, sanitation, and storage Food safety certification required Demonstrates basic math and counting skills Demonstrates effective interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing.
