Position Summary

The Delivery Driver is responsible for the safe, timely, and professional transportation of merchandise, equipment, and other company materials between designated locations. This position operates company vehicles and requires a strong commitment to safety, guest service, cleanliness, and compliance with all company policies and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

The Delivery Driver represents the company while traveling between locations and is expected to maintain a professional, courteous, and service-oriented approach at all times. Our Guests always come first.

Key Responsibilities

Vehicle Operation & Safety

Inspect the assigned truck before, during, and after each trip to ensure it is in safe operating condition and free of defects.
Complete and submit required written reports regarding the condition of the truck at the end of each trip.
Safely drive company vehicles to and from designated destinations.
Operate vehicles safely at varying speeds and in challenging conditions, including heavy traffic, inclement weather, crowded streets, and highways.
Safely maneuver the vehicle while driving forward and backing up, including long distances, around corners, and in tight or confined areas.
Comply with all company vehicle safety policies and procedures.
Report all vehicle accidents, incidents, damage, and equipment concerns immediately.
Report highway and roadway safety hazards observed during assigned routes.
Promptly communicate delays caused by vehicle breakdowns, weather, traffic, road conditions, or other emergencies.
Operate company vehicles in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations governing the safe operation of commercial motor vehicles.

Deliveries & Material Handling

Load, transport, unload, and deliver merchandise, equipment, supplies, and other materials to and from assigned restaurant locations.
Safely secure merchandise and equipment before transportation.
Use a hand truck to move or lift items weighing more than 15 pounds.
Follow proper lifting and material-handling procedures at all times.
Lift up to 25 pounds independently; assistance will be provided for items weighing more than 25 pounds.
Use appropriate safety equipment when handling materials or performing assigned tasks.

Cleanliness, Hygiene & Workplace Safety

Wear required safety belts and safety shoes at all times.
Wear safety gloves whenever using a knife or performing tasks requiring knife use.
Maintain a strong knowledge of hygiene and safety standards and consistently uphold those standards.
Watch for wet floors, spills, food, debris, and other objects that may create a safety hazard.
Immediately place appropriate caution/wet-floor signage and clean or dry spills when identified.
Follow the CLEAN AS YOU GO standard by maintaining clean, safe, and organized work areas throughout the shift.
Maintain awareness of surroundings and immediately address or report unsafe conditions.

Guest Service & Communication

Communicate effectively in English with managers, team members, restaurant personnel, and other individuals as required.
Maintain a friendly, courteous, and professional demeanor while interacting with guests, team members, managers, vendors, and the public.
Represent the company positively while operating company vehicles and making deliveries.
Prioritize guest service and respond appropriately to requests or concerns.
Follow management direction and communicate any issues that may affect service, delivery schedules, or restaurant operations.

General Responsibilities

Check in with the manager each day and throughout the shift regarding additional duties or operational needs.
Perform additional duties as assigned based on the needs of the business.
Understand that job duties and assignments may change from day to day based on business and operational needs.
Follow all company policies, procedures, safety requirements, and operational standards.
Maintain a professional appearance and conduct at all times.
Protect company vehicles, equipment, merchandise, and property from damage or loss.
Maintain accurate and timely communication regarding deliveries, vehicle conditions, delays, incidents, and other operational matters.

Working Conditions

This position may involve:

Irregular work schedules and delivery schedules based on business needs.
Extended periods of driving and operating a motor vehicle.
Working in heavy traffic, crowded streets, highways, and tight delivery areas.
Exposure to varying temperatures, weather conditions, and outdoor environments.
Working in rain, heat, cold, wind, and other inclement weather conditions.
Tight delivery schedules and potential delays.
Physical and mental demands associated with operating a motor vehicle for extended periods.
Working around restaurant operations, equipment, merchandise, and other materials.

Physical Requirements

The employee must be able to perform physical activities requiring moderate strength and coordination, including:

Standing for extended periods.
Walking and moving throughout assigned work areas.
Climbing, balancing, bending, reaching, and handling materials.
Lifting up to 25 pounds independently.
Using a hand truck for items over 15 pounds.
Receiving assistance when lifting or moving items weighing more than 25 pounds.
Safely entering and exiting vehicles and navigating tight or confined areas.
Performing repetitive physical movements as required by delivery and operational duties.

Qualifications

Ability to safely operate a company vehicle and perform required delivery duties.
Knowledge of safe driving practices and vehicle operation.
Ability to maneuver a vehicle safely in heavy traffic, tight spaces, and varying weather conditions.
Ability to communicate effectively in English.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Strong awareness of safety, cleanliness, and hygiene standards.
Friendly, courteous, and professional approach to guests and team members.
Ability to work independently while maintaining communication with management.
Ability to work flexible and irregular schedules based on business needs.
Ability to comply with all applicable company policies and federal, state, and local regulations.
