Extruder Assistant

Job DetailsJob Location: ADC Hayesville - Hayesville, NC 28904Job Shift: 2nd ShiftSummary: Assist in the extrusion process, including packaging products and materials. Operating a Dual Reel Take Up, (up to a) 72in. walk through take up machine, spark box, dialed or touch screen, and setting up an ink wheel or program an Ink jet print system. Also, adheres to all palletizing procedures when applicable. Verifies and test all wire and cable by using calipers and cutters. Determines the inner wall thickness, outer wall thickness, wire thickness, and if the wire/conductor is centered. Verifies the proper label on each spool and the proper coding is printed on the jacket. Verifies that the label matches the traveler and is placed on the correct reel size. Quality assurance and verification is priority as an Extrusion Assistant. Completes any and all other duties requested or assigned.   Essential Functions, Duties, Abilities and Responsibilities: Ensure cable is evenly wrapped. Legibly write on all necessary documents (Labels & Travelers). The ability to multi-task in all areas of position. Perform Routine quality checks on all wire and cable. Maintain a clean and organized work area.
