Position Summary
The Safety and Security Representative provides critical support to direct care teams by helping maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment for patients receiving behavioral health services. This role works directly with youth and adults, assisting with supervision, engagement, crisis response, and daily operations while modeling positive behavior and effective problem-solving skills.
Safety and Security Representatives help ensure each patient is treated with dignity, compassion, and respect while supporting individualized treatment goals developed by interdisciplinary care teams.

Essential Responsibilities
Supervise unit activity and patient movement
Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly environment
Support youth and adults with daily needs and therapeutic engagement
Assist with patient supervision and structured activities
Follow individualized treatment plans developed by clinical teams
Provide crisis intervention and initiate emergency response procedures when necessary
Accurately complete required documentation and reports within established deadlines
Document patient behaviors, interactions, and relevant observations
Utilize organizational systems including HRIS and electronic documentation platforms
Transport patients to appointments, visits, and activities as needed
Assist with meal preparation and laundry duties when directed
Attend required staff meetings, trainings, and annual in-service education
Minimum Qualifications
Education
High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution
Licensure
Valid driver’s license
Current auto insurance
Experience
At least one year of related experience and/or training
Intermediate computer proficiency including:
Microsoft Word
Microsoft Excel
Outlook email
Typing and keyboarding skills
Preferred Experience
Experience in behavioral health or related human services settings
Experience using trauma-informed and person-centered approaches
Experience supporting individuals experiencing behavioral health crises

This role requires the ability to:
Stand, walk, and move throughout the shift
Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach
Occasionally climb or balance
Lift and move:
Up to 10 pounds regularly
Up to 25 pounds frequently
Up to 75 pounds occasionally
Maintain visual awareness including close, distance, and peripheral vision
