The Training and FAI Coordinator is an administrative position under the direction of DTD Manager and as part of the Quality Department. The primary responsibilities include managing the LMS Training Database, data entry, training record review, filing, scheduling, and prioritizing. Additionally, the role involves gathering and compiling build data into a First Article Inspection Report (FAIR) in accordance with industry and/or customer standards. The coordinator will work closely with various departments, including Trainers, Quality, Human Resources, Management, Engineering, Planning/Purchasing, and Customer Service. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, organizational, project management and multi-tasking skills, including proactive problem solving.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Maintain the LMS Database with current employee information, training required/completed, and roles.
  • Run gap analysis reports, schedule Hands on and external trainings, collect training records, and verify information is correct and complete.
  • Coordinate scheduling of external training with trainers and inform appropriate personnel and supervisors.
  • Gather and compile build data into FAIRs, ensuring data is complete and accurate. 
  • Interface with various departments to obtain and compile necessary documentation for the FAI package.
  • Collaborate with customer service and/or quality management on any required customer communication.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and associated documentation to generate AS9102 reports compliant to the requirement(s) set forth.
  • Interface with the Therm-x quality control team on the input and review of assembly inspection data for items subject to the FAI requirement.
  • Interface with the supplier quality, receiving, procurement, and additional production departments to obtain and compile all necessary documentation required for the FAI package.
  • Perform floor copy audits for control documents.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives related to training and FAI processes.
  • Report completion of training to the ECO Coordinator for closure of ECOs.
  • Assist with any additional training, documentation, or quality tasks as defined by DTD Manager or Quality Assurance Manager.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Associate degree or equivalent on-the-job training related to training, administration, or quality.
  • Intermediate level competency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, project management, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to work independently, recognize and resolve problems, and handle a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Good customer service skills, presentation skills, computer skills, facilitation skills, interpersonal and human relations skills.
  • Ability to review documents for standardized formatting and grammar is a plus.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
