We are seeking an Electrical Engineer II to design, develop, and support industrial electrical and control systems used in advanced manufacturing and test environments. The Electrical Engineer II works collaboratively within cross-functional teams, applies sound engineering judgment, and supports both new product development and sustaining engineering efforts. This position operates with moderate supervision and can independently execute designs, support manufacturing, and contribute to continuous product improvement.

Responsibilities and duties;

  • Design, review, and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, specifications, and bills of materials (BOM)
  • Evaluate designs for functionality, safety, compliance, and manufacturability
  • Participate in R&D efforts, including hands-on prototyping, testing, and validation of new concepts
  • Perform electrical testing using standard measurement equipment (multimeters, LCR meters, impedance analyzers, spectrum analyzers)
  • Develop and support industrial control panels and electrical test systems
  • Provide engineering support to Manufacturing Engineering, including OMS documentation such as:
    • Manufacturing process flow diagrams
    • BOMs
    • Work instructions
  • Troubleshoot electrical and control system issues during development and production
  • Perform hands-on wiring, panel assembly, and prototyping independently or with team members
  • Collaborate with mechanical, manufacturing, quality, and test teams to support product release and lifecycle improvements

Qualifications and Skills

  • Core Electrical Engineering Fundamentals
    • Strong foundation in electrical engineering fundamentals
    • Ability to read, interpret, and create electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
    • Proficiency with electrical CAD tools; Autodesk Electrical preferred
    • Comfortable using hand tools for wiring, assembly, and prototyping
    • Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
    • Proficient with MS Project
  • Industrial Control Panels & UL508A (NITW)

    • Experience designing industrial control panels compliant with UL508A standards
    • Familiarity with UL508A.NITW Industrial Control Panel requirements
    • Create and maintain general specifications for industrial control panels and electrical test systems
    • Develop panel layouts, wiring diagrams, labeling schemes, and BOMs aligned with UL508A
    • Support UL compliance efforts, including documentation, design reviews, and test readiness
    • Partner with manufacturing and quality teams to ensure compliance, safety, and functional performance
  • PLC & HMI / GUI Programming

    • Experience with PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or equivalent platforms)
    • Experience developing and modifying HMI / GUI interfaces for industrial equipment and test systems
    • Integrate PLCs, HMIs, sensors, actuators, and safety devices into complete control systems
    • Troubleshoot PLC-controlled systems in development and manufacturing environments
  • Education & Experience

    • BS Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience
    • Demonstrated experience supporting industrial electrical or control systems
    • Ability to work independently on well-defined problems and contribute to more complex system-level designs
  • Preferred Skills

    • RF design and testing experience
    • Familiarity with RF filters and RF products used in semiconductor manufacturing
    • Experience with high-power RF systems and thermal control systems
    • 3D modeling experience
    • Experience with Autodesk Vault or other Vault PDM systems
    • Engineering project management skills, including:
      • Development of block and flow diagrams
      • Creation and maintenance of Gantt charts and schedules
      • Basic cost estimating and budget awareness
      • Prototype development, build coordination, and iteration support

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to be in a stationary position; move within the facilities, constantly operate machining equipment and tools, inspect surroundings and equipment, occasionally ascends/descends a ladder, communicate with others, detect odors, and transport equipment up to 40 pounds.
