Description

JOB SUMMARY

Manufacturing Engineer L2 supports continuous improvement initiatives and daily manufacturing operations as a key member of the manufacturing engineering team. This role applies production and engineering principles to improve processes, strengthen product quality, and support efficient production. The position collaborates with engineering, research and development, quality, materials, and operations teams to improve performance and support operational excellence.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Assists with the assembly, installation, integration, and commissioning of new automation equipment and systems within the manufacturing environment.

• Troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs complex electromechanical equipment, tooling, and automation systems to support equipment reliability and production up time.

• Supports the integration of new automation machinery into existing manufacturing processes while maintaining compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.

• Maintains accurate equipment documentation, including system configurations, component inventories, engineering records, and change histories to support quality and compliance standards.

• Sets up production equipment, tooling, and fixtures for new product introduction activities, including pilot builds, process validation, and product launches.

• Collaborates with engineering teams to review product designs and provide feedback on manufacturability, automation compatibility, assembly requirements, and process constraints.

• Monitors production operations to identify workflow bottlenecks, equipment inefficiencies, and capacity limitations, and recommends improvements to increase throughput and productivity.

• Serves as a technical resource for production personnel by diagnosing equipment issues, resolving machine faults, and minimizing production disruptions.

• Participates in root cause investigations related to nonconforming products, scrap, equipment failures, and customer returns through technical evaluations and failure analysis activities.

• Supports the implementation of engineering change orders, process improvements, tooling modifications, and corrective and preventive action initiatives.

• Develops, maintains, and revises manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, standard operating procedures, validation protocols, and training materials.

• Collects, analyzes, and reports manufacturing performance data, including equipment utilization, efficiency metrics, downtime trends, and process capability measurements.

• Promotes and maintains a safe, organized, and efficient work environment by participating in 6S, Lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Performs other duties or responsibilities assigned over the course of employment.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

• Accredited bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechatronics Engineering.

• 3+ years of manufacturing experience with a bachelor’s degree, or 1 year of experience with a master’s

degree.

• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering principles.

• Experience with design software, such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.

• Familiarity with problem-solving methods and continuous improvement concepts; Lean or Six Sigma

experience preferred.

• Strong analytical and organizational skills.

• Effective communication skills and the ability to work in a cross-functional team environment.
