Job Summary:

The Branch Manager will be responsible for supervising and managing a bank branch. They will oversee financial reporting, hire and train staff, and grow branch revenue. Duties include managing and supervising employees, assisting customers in opening accounts, and providing excellent customer service.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

The position of Branch Manager is responsible for the direct supervision of department employees including Tellers and Customer Service Representatives, responsible for day-to-day supervision and leadership. Writes performance evaluations that are timely and constructive. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Bank's policies and applicable laws, ensuring adherence to EEO guidelines.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Maintains and oversees all banking procedures and processes.
  • Recruiting, vetting, interviewing, and hiring new employees.
  • Assisting with customer service and satisfaction, opening new accounts, CD's and IRAs; closing accounts, and answering any product or service questions.
  • Marketing branch within the community to attract business.
  • Business development, looking for new opportunities to secure customers.
  • Perform Teller work on an as needed basis.
  • Manage the schedule for the Hazel Green branch.
  • Approve monthly bills.
  • Perform disciplinary actions based on performance along with HR.
  • Maintain the premise.
  • Order supplies for the Hazel Green branch.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Strong aptitude for numbers, spreadsheets, and financial reports.
  • Able to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions.
  • In-depth understanding of branch bank and its position in the industry.
  • Focused on customer service.
  • Accurate and precise attention to detail.
  • Excellent computer skills; experience in financial software, Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional knowledge of banking, finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting, and cost control principles.
  • Ability to manage employees, while multitasking large projects.
  • Pays strict attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of banking and finance best practices, laws, standards, and state/national regulations.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business with an emphasis in finance, or a related field; Master's degree in a finance-related field preferred. Three to five years of experience; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • One to two years of previous experience in the banking industry preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk, working on a computer, and answering phones.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times.
