About the Role: 

The EHS Specialist is responsible for supporting and managing environmental, health, and safety programs that promote a safe, compliant, and engaging workplace. This role provides technical guidance, partners with leaders and Team Members, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen safety performance and ensure compliance with applicable environmental and safety regulations. 

   

What You Will Do:

  • Coordinate environmental, health, and safety activities through effective leadership, communication, and cross-functional partnership.
  • Develop, coordinate, and deliver EHS training for Team Members, including new hire orientation and ongoing safety education.
  • Investigate work-related injuries and illnesses, analyze trends and data, and support the development of corrective actions and safety countermeasures.
  • Support compliance with applicable federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • Lead and support Safety Team activities, including recommendations, follow-up actions, and accountability for identified issues.
  • Conduct routine safety observations, audits, and workplace inspections, ensuring timely and effective follow-up.
  • Coordinate emergency evacuation procedures, training, and practice drills.
  • Coordinate chemical awareness training and monitor compliance on an ongoing basis.
  • Ensure required environmental reports are completed accurately and submitted on time, including reporting related to land, air, water, and hazardous waste, as applicable.
  • Manage pollution prevention programs in accordance with applicable local regulations.
  • Coordinate and manage hazardous waste programs.
  • Coordinate recycling efforts for recyclable scrap materials.
  • Serve as the ISO 14000 Management Representative, as assigned.

What You Need To Be Successful:

  • Working knowledge of environmental and safety standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and professionally.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with Team Members at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills with the ability to manage priorities and follow through on commitments.
  • Sound problem-solving, negotiation, and teamwork skills.
  • Open-minded, accountable, and results-oriented approach to work.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated ability to use data to support decision-making, identify trends, and solve problems.

 

Bonus Points If You Have:

  • First Aid or EMS experience
  • Automotive experience

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or technical certifications in related field preferred not required.
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in materials, material follow up, analysis, and/or compliance

Travel: 

  • Travel may be required minimally based on business needs
