The Boeing Company is currently hiring a Software Engineering Manager to support our Government Vehicle Health Management Systems (GVHMS) Team in Hazelwood, MO. This manager will lead a team of engineers that develops and deploys creative and innovative solutions to our customers.

Our mission is to provide the global defense community with solutions that maximize mission readiness and effectiveness, reduce lifecycle costs, and keep people safe.  The GVHMS suite of products accomplishes this by acquiring and managing aircraft health and usage data, applying advanced data analytics, and delivering solutions that provide aircraft maintainers with better insights into vehicle health as well as more efficient and effective maintenance recommendations.

The successful candidate will have a passion for working with people and for delivering exceptional products and services to our customers. Additionally, in order to capture the significant opportunities across the team, the successful candidate must be a self-starter with the ability to translate strategy to action in alignment with the organization's mission and vision.

The team applies an Agile, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop, and deploy Vehicle Health Management solutions supporting multiple programs and platforms. These solutions leverage a micro-service architecture to more easily scale across platforms.  The team also provides implementation and training to customer sites to ensure our solutions meet or exceed our customers' needs.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develops and motivates employees
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with direct reports, customers, peers, business partners, and other stakeholders
  • Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures, and works closely with other GVHMS teams
  • Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers, and leads process improvements
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes
  • Travel domestically and internationally

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience in managing or leading a team in the software development discipline
  • Experience with Product Management Principles & Methodologies
  • 7+ years of experience in software development

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelors, Master's, or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, chemistry, or technical degree
  • Cloud application development and deployment expertise
  • Earned Value Management (EVM) silver medallion or higher
  • Experience with Agile Software Development
  • Experience in application integration brokers or micro-service technologies
  • Experience in Web Development

Summary Pay Range: $132,600 - $179,400
