This position will assist with the daily maintenance and repair issues at all buildings on campus. This includes structural components, routine electrical work, plumbing, roofing, carpentry, painting, welding, parking lot maintenance, departmental and furniture moves, or any other task as directed by the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor and/or Director Corporate Facilities and Services.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Perform preventative maintenance on all HVAC units at the corporate office buildings on a monthly basis. This would include the filter changes and coil cleanings when scheduled.
Assist in departmental moves; including taking apart and setting up new cubicles and offices, movable partitions, office furniture and equipment at the corporate office buildings or distribution center facilities.
Perform electrical requirements as needed for the corporate office buildings.
Perform routine plumbing; including inspecting, installing, repairing and replacing pipes, fittings and plumbing fixtures, unclogging sinks and toilets, repair of faucet, assemblies and replacement of washers.
Assist with general maintenance as assigned by the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor which will include changing lights, ballasts, painting and general carpentry.
Perform grounds keeping maintenance of the corporate office buildings, including removing trash, cardboard, pallets, pulling and spraying weeds, etc.
Clear snow on walks and stairs during the winter as needed including salt spreading.
Utilize handheld devices and mobile apps to create and close Work Orders with appropriate data.
Provide after-hours assistance in the event of an emergency or inclement condition as directed by the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor and/or Director Corporate Facilities and Services. These calls should be responded to in 30 minutes or less.
Maintain the condition of the buildings and public areas.
Ensure all departments and equipment run smoothly and effectively.
Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
SKILLS/EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/ABILITIES
Required:Â
High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
Valid Class E driver’s license (or willingness and ability to obtain a Class E license)
Work experience in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, welding, painting and general ground maintenance
Basic knowledge of plumbing, painting, landscaping/grounds keeping, and maintaining equipment/vehicles
1-2 years’ experience in applicable field
Ability to maintain a win-win and professional attitude
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment with minimal supervision
Able to meet the physical requirements of the position, such as climbing ladders and stairs; walking, kneeling, standing, squatting, twisting and bending for long periods of time
Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
