Leads the Special Pay process, including, but not limited to, off-cycle payments, stock options, bonus payments to team members and other additions to team member’s payroll payments. Gives direction to team members on the Special Pay team.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
SPECIAL PAY PROCESSING
Review and process weekly uploads into the payroll system for special additions to payroll payments (such as bonuses, spiffs, incentive plans, etc.)
Ensure accurate and timely payment of all special payments on a daily (off-cycle payments) and pay period (additions to payroll) basis.
Run small off-cycle payroll runs as needed.
PAY CARD ADMIINISTRATION
Lead pay card processing, including the instant funding for termination and other off-cycle payments, field card orders, enrollment files and direct deposit error resolution.
Ensure electronic pay stubs for payroll runs and off-cycle payments are balanced submitted timely to our vendor for online posting.
Assist team members with pay card and/or electronic pay stub account registrations and questions.
BANK ACCOUNT RECONCILIATION & REVIEW
Make sure the payroll ACH bank account is balanced each month and that variances have been researched and resolved, including journal entries necessary for balancing.
Oversee all other bank related job duties, which may include Positive Pay processing, Stop Payments and check research, check clearing, and escheatment reviews.
PAYROLL PROCESSING
Assist in the weekly hours transmit and edit process and make any necessary corrections in the timekeeping system.
Research and correct out of balance special additions to payroll payments.
Provide excellent customer service by resolving team member questions and issues.
Help with testing of changes to existing systems and new systems.
SKILLS / EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE / ABILITIES
Required:
Associate's degree in a financial field or three years related experience in accounting or payroll, or equivalent combination of education
Proficient with spreadsheets and queries
Good written and oral communication skills
Ability to self-manage, lead others, problem solve and analyze data
Desired:
Certified Payroll Professional
Payroll experience
Bachelor degree in Accounting
