Job Summary:

The Infrastructure Project Analyst II takes ownership of moderately complex infrastructure and operations projects or multiple workstreams, ensuring deliverables meet scope, schedule, and quality requirements. Partners with cross-functional teams to resolve issues, optimize processes, and improve reporting accuracy. Begins contributing to project planning and resource forecasting. Identifies improvement initiatives and solutions and manages their implementation within Infrastructure and Operations. Understand IIO needs and opportunities; possess a good understanding of risk mitigation plans.. Assist with work estimation and planning of analytical activities, which may include team resourcing, project time frames, and scope of projects. Develop and execute plans delegated by managers through reporting and status updates.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Identify, elicit, and document project/process requirements, using appropriate modeling technique, if required. Analyze requirements and validate with original users, eliminating confusion. Define the testing scripts and verification criteria to ensure requirements are met. Maintain documentation and traceability throughout project.
  • Manage the delivery of research, workshops, and other activities to support the specification and agreement of project deliverables.
  • Provide appropriate documentation and training to enable successful transition to business as usual. Identify and record lessons learned to inform future project activity.
  • Document "as is" and "to be" processes and describe the changes required to migrate to the "to be" capability to record accurately the change required.
  • Support forecasting and demand planning efforts, aiding in predicting future product demand and planning production requirements.
  • Deliver small project workstreams, carrying out specified project activities within defined time and quality parameters and ensuring adherence to the prescribed project management methodology.
  • Produce workstream or project plans, ensuring that all activities are identified, are appropriately organized to deliver project objectives, and comply with the organization's project management framework. Collate and analyze data using preset tools, methods, and formats. Involves working independently.
  • Use the knowledge management system to access specific information.
  • Resolve queries from internal or external customers or suppliers by providing information on complex processes and the related policies, referring issues to others where necessary for interpretation of policy.
  • Contribute to reviewing existing operations in own area of work, and support in generating new ideas to assist in identifying continuous improvements.
  • Carry out baseline assessment and post-implementation analyses to contribute to the measurement and tracking of business benefits.
  • Help others get the most out of internal communications systems by offering support and advice.
  • Support stakeholder engagement by arranging meetings, events, and other stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Carry out delegated activities to support the identification and evaluation of risks, issues, dependencies, and constraints associated with the project, as well as the design of mitigating solutions.
  • Contribute to and support feasibility studies from a technological and organizational perspective, and document findings.
  • Organize and prepare complex documents using a variety of applications for technology devices, such as standard office software. Also responsible for gathering and summarizing data for special reports.
  • Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation, where relevant, to improve performance and fulfill personal potential. Maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.

Skills:

Required:

  • Identify potential stakeholders, analyze their expectations, and develop strategies for managing stakeholders and their expectations.
  • Determine and analyze trends from data that is collected to assist in compiling reports that will help in decision-making.
  • Ensure timely and appropriate planning, collection, creation, distribution, storage, retrieval, management, control, archiving, and disposition of project information.
  • Prioritize components of a project, program, or portfolio work in context with risks, activities, stakeholders, etc. across the life of the project or program.
  • Plan and manage small project work assignments within desired cost, time and quality parameters.
  • Identify, verify, and manage changes to the scope of the project or program, utilizing the most appropriate approach.
  • Envision and document the future state of processes and products by identifying the solution scope, potential value of the future state, and the changes to the process, products, organization infrastructure, capabilities, and technology necessary to achieve the desired future state.
  • Conduct gap analysis between current and future states to identify components of the overall change strategy.
  • Express ideas, request actions, formulate plans, & policies by means of clear and effective verbal communications.
  • Identify, track, and enable the achievement of the planned benefits and intended outcomes of a program and associated projects.
  • Develop and apply an entrepreneurial spirit to run a project and program within business operation parameters.
  • Estimate each of the components of project, program, or portfolio work, including costs, activity durations, resource needs, risks, stakeholders, etc. across the life of the project or program.
  • Utilize and adapt life cycle frameworks to the unique nature of the project, and orchestrate the integration of all component parts to deliver the project.
  • Establish and manage the quality policies, procedures, and responsibilities for a project or program that satisfies the needs for which it was undertaken.
  • Mentor more junior colleagues.

Preferred:

Education:  Bachelor's Degree, equivalent technical training/certification, or commensurate experience

Experience:  Sound experience and understanding of straightforward procedures or systems (1 to 2 years)

Managerial Experience:  Very limited (0 to 3 months)
