Position Overview
Maréla is a coastal European–inspired restaurant rooted in the traditions of Southern European wine and seafood cuisine. Our concept celebrates the simplicity and elegance of coastal cooking—where exceptional ingredients, thoughtful technique, and seasonality take center stage.
We are seeking a Steward who takes pride in maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment. This role is essential to the success of the culinary and service teams, ensuring that all kitchen tools, equipment, and service ware are cleaned, sanitized, and ready to support a seamless guest experience.

Key Responsibilities
Operational Excellence
- Wash, sanitize, and properly store all dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and kitchen equipmentÂ
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dish area, kitchen, and storage spacesÂ
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety standards, including proper sanitation proceduresÂ
- Monitor and restock cleaning supplies, notifying leadership when inventory is lowÂ
- Safely operate dishwashing equipment and ensure proper maintenanceÂ
Kitchen Support
- Assist culinary team with basic prep tasks as needed (e.g., peeling, washing produce)Â
- Support the flow of service by ensuring timely turnaround of clean itemsÂ
- Assist with receiving and organizing deliveries when requiredÂ
- Maintain cleanliness of floors, drains, trash areas, and back-of-house workspacesÂ
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with culinary and service teams to support smooth operations during serviceÂ
- Communicate effectively with leadership regarding any equipment or operational issuesÂ
- Demonstrate a team-first mentality and willingness to support where neededÂ

Qualifications
- Previous dishwashing or kitchen experience preferred, but not requiredÂ
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environmentÂ
- Strong attention to cleanliness, detail, and organizationÂ
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 poundsÂ
- Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidaysÂ

- Prolonged standing and walking in a kitchen environmentÂ
- Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment and suppliesÂ
- Exposure to heat, water, and cleaning chemicalsÂ
- Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive motion
