Job Summary

The Service Supervisor is responsible for supporting front-end store operations and ensuring an exceptional customer experience. This position provides leadership to customer service, cashier, and front-end associates while helping maintain efficient store operations, service standards, cash-handling accuracy, and regulatory compliance. The Service Supervisor serves as a key resource for associates and customers while promoting a safe, welcoming, and customer-focused shopping environment.

Key Responsibilities Customer Service
  • Deliver outstanding customer service and lead by example.
  • Assist customers with questions, concerns, refunds, exchanges, and special requests.
  • Resolve customer issues promptly and professionally.
  • Promote a customer-first culture focused on satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Support store initiatives designed to improve the overall customer experience.
Front-End Operations
  • Assist in coordinating daily front-end activities, including checkout lanes, self-checkout, and customer service areas.
  • Monitor customer traffic and deploy associates effectively to maintain service levels.
  • Support efficient checkout operations and minimize customer wait times.
  • Ensure front-end work areas remain clean, organized, and customer-ready.
  • Assist with opening, closing, and operational procedures as assigned.
Cash Handling & Compliance
  • Support accurate cash-handling and register accountability procedures.
  • Assist with till counts, cash pickups, balancing, and audit processes.
  • Ensure compliance with company cash-control policies and operational standards.
  • Maintain awareness of loss prevention and fraud prevention practices.
  • Support compliance with all company and regulatory requirements.
Leadership & Team Development
  • Provide direction, coaching, and support to front-end associates.
  • Assist with training new associates on customer service standards and operational procedures.
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment.
  • Monitor associate performance and provide constructive feedback.
  • Serve as a leader on duty when assigned and support store-wide operations.
Operational Excellence
  • Monitor front-end productivity and service performance.
  • Support implementation of store programs, promotions, and operational initiatives.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate signage, pricing, and presentation standards.
  • Work collaboratively with department leaders to ensure a seamless customer experience.
  • Help identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and customer service.
Safety & Compliance
  • Support company safety programs and policies.
  • Maintain a safe environment for customers and associates.
  • Respond appropriately to customer and associate incidents.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, security, and emergency procedures.
  • Report operational or safety concerns to store leadership.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous retail, grocery, customer service, or front-end experience preferred.
  • Leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Cash-handling and problem-solving experience preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, and carrying up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Ability to perform repetitive movements associated with front-end operations.
