This role owns the entire customer journey — from prospecting and closing new accounts, to cross-selling and upselling, to ongoing account management and customer success. The ideal candidate is energized by prospecting and winning new business, not just managing what’s already there, and a team player, working collaboratively with operations, customer service, and sales peers to deliver on commitments. They are relationship-driven, building trust quickly and sustaining it over time to drive retention and expansion.    Key Responsibilities Drive the entire sales cycle from initial customer engagement to close sales. Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline to meet or exceed sales targets identify and generate new business through targeted market research, networking and lead generation activities. Build and maintain long-term relationships with customers. Identify and execute cross-sell and upsell opportunities across the company’s product and services offerings as customer needs evolve. Collaborate with team and management to develop effective sales strategies and best practices that drive commercial growth and customer retention. Consistently meet or exceed assigned sales targets for new business, retention, and account growth. Interact regularly with management and develop cooperative working relationships with operational colleagues to ensure customer satisfaction.   Qualifications & Skills 3+ years of B2B sales experience, ideally in freight forwarding, third-party logistics (3PL), transportation, or supply chain services. Experience selling across multiple freight modes or service lines (e.g., LTL, truckload, air, ocean, brokerage) is a plus. Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field, preferred. Demonstrated success as a hunter, with a track record of winning new business and exceeding sales targets. Experience managing accounts post-sale, with a track record of building strong customer relationships. Existing book of relevant industry relationships or contacts, preferred. Solid working knowledge of freight forwarding services (e.g., domestic/international transportation modes, customs brokerage basics) or the ability to learn quickly. Comfortable using CRM tools to track activities and report progress, Hubspot experience is a plus. Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Self-motivated with strong time-management and prioritization skills; able to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams.   Work Environment This role combines fieldwork (customer visits, prospecting, networking) with office-based or remote selling activity, depending on location. Regular local travel is expected, with occasional regional travel for customer meetings, trade shows, or company events.   Compensation & Benefits Compensation Base Salary Range: $70,000 – $100,000 annually (based on experience and market). Commission Plan: Uncapped commissions tied to new business gross margin and overall portfolio performance. On-target earnings of $150,000 – $220,000+ for top performers. Starting pay will vary based on education, experience, skills, and demonstrated sales track record.
