The Training Coordinator is responsible for designing, delivering, and continuously improving training programs that drive operational accuracy, safety, and efficiency within a high-volume warehouse environment supporting e-commerce and B2B customers. This role owns the full training lifecycle, from onboarding through ongoing skill development, and serves as the primary steward of operational SOPs.
The Training Coordinator partners with Operations leadership to reduce preventable errors, minimize rework, reinforce standard work, and embed quality expectations into daily behaviors, onboarding, and coaching in alignment with the Monoprice Quality Programs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.Â
New-Employee Onboarding – Serves as the first point of contact for new employees. Responsible for facilitating an onboarding program that covers company culture, safety protocols, and foundational job skills, ensuring every new hire is prepared and integrated from their first day.
Own and continuously improve standardized onboarding programs by role (picker, packer, shipping, receiving, inventory, etc.).
Partners with department supervisors to validate new-hire readiness through structured assessments, skills sign-offs, and floor observations before independent work.
Training Execution and Development – Serves as the architect of the learning experience. This involves identifying training needs across all departments, conducting hands-on training sessions, and coordinating with subject-matter experts to ensure technical skills are effectively transferred.
Design and deliver hands-on training specific to fulfillment workflows, including order accuracy, packaging standards, labeling, system transactions, and carrier compliance requirements.
Partner with Operations leadership, Quality, and Inventory teams to proactively address error trends through targeted training and process reinforcement.
Training Tracking and Documentation – Responsible for the training matrix, ensuring that all employee records are up to date. This includes tracking certifications, annual equipment training renewals, and overall tracking to identify where additional training may be required.
Maintain and analyze the training matrix to identify skill gaps, retraining needs, and cross-training opportunities.
Track training effectiveness using quality metrics, audit results, error trends, and post-training observations.
Follow-up and Performance Auditing – Conduct regular “check-ins” and on-the-floor observations to verify that employees are correctly applying their training.
Conduct regular on-the-floor observations and audits to verify adherence to standard work and training effectiveness.
Document findings and partner with Supervisors and Managers to recommend corrective actions and retraining, without direct disciplinary authority.
SOP Creation and Maintenance – Act as lead author for the facility’s SOPs. This includes writing clear step-by-step instructions for all tasks, reviewing them regularly for accuracy, and ensuring that the most current versions are accessible to all employees.
Establish version control, review cadence, and change-management processes for SOP updates.
Ensure SOPs reflect current system configurations, parcel carrier requirements, and operational best practices

Education & Experience
- Experience in a fulfillment/distribution center environment is required
- Demonstrated ability to train adult learners using hands-on, visual, and practical methods in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
- Prior experience in employee training is required
- Willingness to become forklift certified is required
- Proficiency within a Warehouse Management System (WMS) is required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Products is required
- Experience in the creation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) is required
