Position Summary


The Family Medicine Physician provides comprehensive, continuous, and patient-centered primary care across all age groups. This role focuses on preventive health, chronic disease management, and acute care, using a holistic approach to improve patient outcomes.


This is a hybrid position involving both hospital-based and outpatient clinical responsibilities. The physician is expected to see approximately 14–24 patients per day while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality, coordinated care. Candidates must also demonstrate a commitment to teaching and mentoring medical students, residents, or clinical staff as part of an academic or collaborative care environment.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including physical examinations and detailed medical histories
  • Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic tests, including laboratory work and imaging studies
  • Diagnose medical conditions and develop individualized treatment plans
  • Provide patient education on preventive care, including screenings, immunizations, and lifestyle modifications
  • Refer patients to appropriate specialists when necessary
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant patient medical records
  • Ensure patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and institutional policies
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Maintain knowledge of and comply with regulations related to infection control, patient safety, privacy, pain management, and opioid prescribing


Qualifications

Education & Certifications

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution
  • Board Certification in Family Medicine (required)
  • Active and unrestricted state medical license (required)
  • Valid DEA registration for prescribing controlled substances
  • Successful completion of the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE)
  • Compliance with continuing medical education (CME) requirements


Experience

  • Prior clinical experience in family medicine, primary care, or a related setting preferred
  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care

  • Effective time management and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and clinical software

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Standard outpatient clinical environment with occasional extended hours
  • Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking
  • Manual dexterity required for clinical procedures
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs
  • Exposure to bloodborne pathogens and infectious diseases (OSHA Category I)
