The Assistant Kitchen Manager will support the Restaurant Kitchen Manager in overseeing kitchen operations within a single restaurant location, ensuring consistency, quality, and efficiency. This role is integral in managing kitchen staff, inventory, and food safety, supporting the restaurant’s continued growth and success.Â
Requirements

- Schedule, coordinate, and appoint activities to kitchen staff.Â
- Supervise food preparation and cooking to maintain consistency and efficiency.Â
- Ensure accountability of kitchen staff.Â
- Identify staffing needs, recruit, and recommend candidates for hiring.Â
- Coach and develop crew members, fostering skill growth and teamwork.Â
- Implement and uphold kitchen safety protocols to create a secure working environment.Â
- Monitor ingredient inventory levels to ensure proper stock and minimize waste.Â
- Oversee kitchen sanitation and enforce health and safety guidelines.Â
- Conducts Food & Safety audits.Â
- Conduct regular line checks to maintain consistency and quality in food preparation.Â
- Monitor ticket times throughout each shift to optimize food service speed.Â
- Conduct inventory checks and manage stock levels efficiently to ensure proper stock and minimize waste.Â
- Oversee food preparation to ensure recipe quality and accuracy.Â
- Ensure consistency in food preparation and presentation.Â
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:Â
- Proven experience in a kitchen role.Â
- Strong knowledge of kitchen operations and food safety standards.Â
- Ability to lead and motivate kitchen staff.Â
- Excellent communication skills.Â
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.Â
- High attention to detail and accuracy in managing inventory and compliance processes.Â
- Experience in a high-volume restaurant setting.Â
- Familiarity with inventory management software.Â
- Requires standing for extended periods of up to 8-10 hours.Â
- May involve lifting heavy objects up to 50 lbs.Â
