Position Summary
The Director of Infrastructure, Cloud & Enterprise Platforms is responsible for the leadership, strategy, architecture, delivery, security, and operational performance of the organization's technology infrastructure. This role oversees all infrastructure services from Helpdesk through Cloud Engineering and Infrastructure Operations while enabling business-critical platforms, enterprise integrations, cybersecurity, and digital transformation initiatives.
The Director will lead the modernization of infrastructure services, drive cloud adoption across Azure and AWS environments, optimize operational performance, manage strategic technology partners, and ensure infrastructure services support both national and global business objectives.
This role leads a team of approximately 10 technology professionals and works closely with business leaders, application teams, cybersecurity, enterprise architecture, and global delivery organizations to deliver secure, scalable, and cost-effective technology solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Technology Infrastructure Leadership
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight for all infrastructure and operations functions including:

- Establish technology roadmaps that align infrastructure investments with business strategy.

Enterprise Platforms & Integration Services
Provide infrastructure support and operational leadership for integrations across enterprise applications and technology platforms including:
- Prophet 21 (P21)

- Microsoft technologies and M365 ecosystem
- Microsoft Azure
- Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- SQL Server
- SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services)
- SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services)

- Transportation Management Systems (TMS)
- Logistics and Supply Chain Applications
- Enterprise Data Platforms
Partner with Application Development, Data Analytics, and Business Teams to ensure seamless platform integration, performance, scalability, and supportability.
Cloud Strategy & Transformation
- Lead enterprise cloud transformation initiatives and migration programs across Azure and AWS environments.
- Develop and execute multi-year cloud adoption roadmaps.
- Establish cloud governance, security, and operational standards.
- Lead cloud architecture reviews and modernization efforts.
- Drive automation, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), and cloud-native service adoption.
- Ensure cloud solutions are scalable, resilient, and aligned to business objectives.
Financial Management & Cost Optimization
- Develop and manage annual infrastructure and cloud operating budgets.
- Lead forecasting, financial planning, and technology investment strategies.
- Drive cloud cost governance and FinOps initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to optimize licensing, infrastructure utilization, and vendor expenditures.
- Provide regular reporting on budget performance, cloud consumption, and cost-saving initiatives.
Architecture, Governance & Compliance
- Ensure adoption of enterprise architecture standards, governance processes, and technology best practices.
- Review, approve, and govern infrastructure designs and technical solutions.
- Partner with Cybersecurity and Enterprise Architecture teams to ensure compliance with:
- Security frameworks
- Regulatory requirements
- Data governance standards
- Audit requirements
- Corporate policies
- Maintain strong controls supporting SOX and other compliance obligations.
- Ensure infrastructure services are secure by design and operationally resilient.
Global Delivery & Strategic Partnerships
- Partner with GCC (Global Capability Center) leadership to deliver cloud engineering, infrastructure operations, and platform support services.
- Establish service delivery standards and performance expectations across internal and external teams.
- Coordinate global infrastructure initiatives that support business operations across multiple regions.
- Ensure alignment between local and global technology strategies.
Team Leadership & Talent Development
- Lead, coach, and mentor a high-performing infrastructure organization of approximately 10 professionals.
- Foster technical excellence, innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Develop succession plans and workforce strategies to support organizational growth.
- Identify skills gaps and establish development plans for team members.
- Promote a culture focused on customer service, operational excellence, and business partnership.
Vendor & Managed Services Management
- Manage relationships with Managed Service Providers (MSPs), cloud providers, telecommunications vendors, software vendors, and strategic technology partners.
- Establish and monitor Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Conduct vendor performance reviews and drive accountability for service delivery.
- Negotiate contracts, renewals, and service agreements to maximize value and reduce risk.
Operational Excellence
- Lead efforts to improve service reliability, performance, and customer satisfaction.
- Support knowledge transfer, transition planning, and operational readiness initiatives.
- Ensure proper documentation, support procedures, and operational runbooks are maintained.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across infrastructure and support services.
- Contribute to capacity planning, performance management, and technology lifecycle management.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years of progressive IT leadership experience as a IT led or Director.
- 5+ years leading infrastructure, cloud, or enterprise platform teams.
- Demonstrated experience managing cloud environments within Azure and AWS.
- Strong experience supporting enterprise ERP, CRM, logistics, and transportation systems.
- Experience managing technology budgets, forecasts, and vendor relationships.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity, compliance, and governance frameworks.
- Proven ability to lead organizational change and digital transformation initiatives.
