SUMMARY:

The Production Operator I at Lithion Battery will be responsible for assembling various components of a battery, including loading cells, aligning connectors, spot welding or soldering, and assembling lids and hardware. This role requires ensuring the smooth operation of automation machines, identifying and resolving issues with rejected parts. The position involves continual lifting of up to 50lbs throughout the shift, working in a fast-paced environment, and contributing to process improvements and cross-training across departments.

DIRECT REPORTS:

  • N/A

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Assemble battery components including loading cells, soldering, hand crimping, ultrasonic welding, and resistance spot welding.
  • Operate hand and power tools, including glue guns and hot air guns.
  • Interpret work instructions, workmanship criteria, and technical drawings.
  • Participate in continuous improvement training and cross-training across departments.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned to support production needs.
  • Monitor and ensure proper operation of automation machines.
  • Report and resolve issues related to rejected parts to maintain production flow.

QUALIFICATIONS & KEY COMPENTENCIES:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing production processes is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to adapt to change, and rotate through different tasks as needed.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs continually.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in office software.
  • Technical and mechanical aptitude with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and follow policies and procedures.
  • Willingness to work overtime as required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods during assembly tasks.
  • Repetitive hand and wrist motions while using tools and assembling small parts.
  • Frequent lifting, carrying, reaching, and pushing production materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Working in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and noise levels.
  • Required to wear and use personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses and gloves.
