Job Summary:

 Leads the daily operations of the Pharmacy to ensure alignment with departmental and organizational objectives.

Job Responsibilities:

  • May determine, coordinate, and supervise daily staffing assignments.

  • Maintains workflows for assigned area throughout the shift ensuring all assigned work is completed and/or transitioned appropriately to the next shift.

  • Addresses staff performance in real time where necessary.

  • Managing purchasing and inventory.

  • Provides leadership, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to staff.

  • Assists with performance evaluations and corrective actions.

  • Assesses quality of services delivered and facilitates staff development programs.

  • Ensures staff compliance with department and organization policies, procedures, and protocols.

  • Performs staff responsibilities as needed to fulfill required service levels.

  • Leads the handling and resolution of complex issues and complaints.

  • Identifies and solves problems in coordination with department leadership.

  • Effectively delegates tasks and responsibilities when appropriate.

  • Identify and resolve conflicts within their department and involve department leadership as needed.

  • Leads and adapts to departmental changes, communicating during transitions affecting their area and encourages team members in their area.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.

  • Works under minimal supervision.

  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Position Requirements:

Work Experience

  • A minimum of 2 years' relevant experience as determined by the organization

 Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Pharmacy required upon hire                        

Licensure/Certification/Registration

  • R.Ph. - Licensed as a Pharmacist in the state of Kentucky required upon hire
