Mental Health Practitioner (MHP)

Location: Henderson & Las Vegas, Nevada
Department: Qualified Residential Treatment Program (QRTP)
Reports To: Clinical Director or Program Director


Position Summary


Bamboo Sunrise is seeking a dedicated Mental Health Practitioner (MHP) to provide therapeutic, behavioral, and clinical support services to youth residing in our Qualified Residential Treatment Program (QRTP).


The Mental Health Practitioner works as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team to support treatment planning, provide clinical interventions, assist with crisis response, and help youth achieve treatment goals, permanency, and successful community integration.


The ideal candidate is trauma-informed, team-oriented, and passionate about helping youth heal and thrive.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Participate in treatment planning and treatment team meetings.
  • Conduct behavioral health assessments and screenings as assigned.
  • Provide individual, family, and group therapeutic interventions within scope of practice.
  • Monitor youth progress toward treatment goals.
  • Assist youth in developing coping skills, emotional regulation, and healthy behaviors.
  • Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation support.
  • Collaborate with therapists, psychiatrists, case managers, families, and community providers.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
  • Complete progress notes, treatment summaries, and behavioral observations.
  • Support discharge planning and aftercare services.
  • Assist with staff coaching and implementation of trauma-informed interventions.
  • Participate in required trainings, supervision, and quality improvement initiatives.


Minimum Qualifications


Required Licensure

Applicants must possess one of the following Nevada licenses or intern licenses:

  • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
  • Marriage and Family Therapist Intern (LMFT-I)
  • Clinical Professional Counselor (CPC)
  • Clinical Professional Counselor Intern (CPC-I)


Additional Requirements

  • Valid Nevada driver's license.
  • Acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to pass all required background checks.
  • CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain after hire.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Experience working with youth, behavioral health, child welfare, or residential treatment populations preferred.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with youth in foster care.
  • Experience in residential treatment, behavioral health, or psychiatric settings.
  • Experience facilitating individual, family, or group therapy.
  • Knowledge of child welfare systems and trauma-informed care.
  • Experience working with high-acuity youth.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records and clinical documentation.

  • Clinical assessment and treatment planning.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to respond to crisis situations.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout residential and community settings.
  • Ability to transport youth when assigned.
  • Ability to participate in approved crisis intervention techniques.
