What You’ll Do


As an Electrical Engineer within ENTEK's Engineering Center of Excellence (COE), you will design, develop, implement, and support electrical systems for industrial automation, manufacturing equipment, and process operations. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including Mechanical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Manufacturing, Project Management, Quality, Supply Chain, Service, and customers to deliver safe, reliable, and code-compliant solutions. In this role, you will lead electrical system design, component selection, engineering documentation, standards compliance, controls integration support, troubleshooting, commissioning activities, and continuous improvement initiatives, helping drive successful project execution, innovation, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction.
 In this role, you will: 

 

  

  • Develop Electrical Systems technical requirements
  • Responsible to develop and own assigned Engineering COE initiatives 
  • Responsible to create electrical sub-system diagrams and electrical schematics
  • Design panel components and wiring layouts
  • Design power distribution systems for industrial equipment and automation systems 
  • Select and specify electrical components including PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, motors, sensors, instrumentation, circuit protection devices, and control hardware. 
  • Develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), electrical drawings, engineering documentation, and design records. 
  • Ensure compliance with NEC, UL 508A, NFPA 70, CE, and applicable customer and industry standards. 
  • Collaborate with Mechanical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, and Project Management teams. 
  • Participate in design reviews and provide technical guidance throughout project execution. 
  • Maintain accurate engineering records, documentation, and project deliverables. 
  • Follow company safety procedures and support a safe work environment.
  • Support controls system integration activities, including PLC, HMI, and industrial network implementation. 
  • Assist with troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective action activities. 
  • Support equipment startup, commissioning, and system validation efforts. 
  • Review electrical designs for functionality, manufacturability, safety, and compliance. 
  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors regarding electrical components and technical specifications. 
  • Assist with project scheduling and engineering task management. 
  • Support continuous improvement and engineering standardization initiatives. 
  • Provide technical support during fabrication, assembly, testing, and installation.
  • Participate in factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT), and customer design reviews. 
  • Support field service activities and resolve technical issues at customer sites. 
  • Collaborate with Operations, Manufacturing, and Service teams to improve product reliability and performance. 
  • Assist with implementation of new technologies and automation solutions. 
  • Provide technical recommendations to improve equipment functionality, safety, and efficiency.
  • Travel to customer facilities, supplier locations, manufacturing sites, and commissioning projects. 
  • Support special engineering projects and strategic business initiatives. 
  • Assist with training and mentoring junior engineers and technical personnel. 
  •  Participate in new product development and advanced engineering activities

Requirements

  

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field required. 
  • Minimum Eight (8) years of experience in designing electrical systems for industrial automation, machinery design, manufacturing, or related environments preferred. 
  • Experience designing electrical systems for industrial equipment and automation applications. 
  • Experience creating electrical schematics and engineering documentation. 
  • Knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulatory requirements. 
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.


Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

  • Experience with AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar electrical design software. 
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar PLC platforms. 
  • Hands-on commissioning, startup, or field service experience. 
  • Experience with UL panel design and CE compliance. 
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies. 
  • Experience within lithium battery, plastics manufacturing, process equipment, or related industries.

  • Electrical engineering principles and industrial control systems. 
  • Power distribution and motor control systems. 
  • PLC, HMI, VFD, instrumentation, and automation technologies. 
  • Electrical codes and standards including NEC, UL 508A, NFPA 70, and CE requirements. 
  • Electrical drafting and design software applications. 
  • Industrial networking and controls concepts.

What We're Looking ForWe are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer with expertise in industrial automation, electrical system design, and manufacturing environments. The ideal candidate has experience developing electrical schematics, power distribution systems, and control panels; working with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and instrumentation; and supporting commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting activities. Strong knowledge of electrical codes and standards, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams are essential. Experience with AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, Lean Manufacturing, and lithium battery, plastics, or process equipment industries is preferred.
